As you may know, BeyondATC is exclusive to MSFS only at the moment.  From BeyondATC's Discord:

Wow, that's amazing.  In a little over a month, they sold that many copies of BeyondATC.  What makes it that amazing is that BeyondATC is still in early access.  I can imagine when BeyondATC gets AI traffic working, and when it finally leaves early access and releases fully, they will sell even more copies. And all those copies sold are PC users of MSFS that bought BeyondATC since BeyondATC does not work on XBox.

Man, if you are a 3rd party dev, MSFS is definitely the place to be if you have a successful product - it can be very lucrative, since the market for MSFS is so big.

Be nice if they actually managed to get the second half of a solo flight working first, two flights today - both utterly hopeless for completely different reasons .. .. 

 

First was far, far too late giving me STAR & RWY and even then didn't offer a descent at all, in fact when I gave up & started going down by myself it told me I should remain at FL360 (approx 60 miles left to run).

Second flight, airport was approx 120 miles away at 90 degrees it decided to give me vectors - within a couple of minutes I had 45 degrees, 25 degrees then 145 degrees .. .. 

Both cases it got itself ignored .. .. back to P2ATC for me, voices (even the free ones) in BATC are better, but the rest is a car crash at the moment .. .

They released it as early access after the community overwhelmingly indicated it wanted them to. They made it very clear that not everything is working right yet. They put it in their forum posts, on their Discord and on the sale page. If you didn't know that going in, it's on you.

I'm pretty sure they didn't mind the revenue. Heck, I actually think this was right up their alley that everyone wanted it released to compensate for months of development + scope change due to the implementation of traffic. Was it worth it because the default ATC sucks and all the other 3 party offerings, while somewhat mature are nothing else but a bunch of phonetically stitched up garbage? I don't know, maybe... I'm using it on each of my flights for the realism of the premium voices alone, but overall the core system is still a little bit of a hot mess.

I was good with FSHUD but wanted to be able to talk to ATC myself...

Specially since the last update this week it's been almost impossible to successfully end a flight with a STAR 😞

Control Centers which used to be more or less coherently picked have gone crazy... I'm like 20 miles from LPPT and still being controlled by Salamanca .... Well... I accepted the condition, and even payed for it in support version in order to get early access to traffic injection, so I can't really complain.

Really no idea what problems people are getting here. I‘m having flawless flights each and every night. Out of about 80 flights with it there were 2 or 3 that failed with either a missing descent clearance or impossible vectors (I‘m not counting ATC giving the initial descent clearance not exactly at my calculated TOD, that happens in real life and on Vatsim too and you just call in and say „ready for descent“). So >95% of the flights working perfectly, I‘d say this is great for early access.

Disclaimer: I‘m kind of a mod at their Discord, so I‘m maybe not entirely neutral. But I wouldn‘t do this (for free, that is) if it wasn‘t a tool I use every night. I know it does somehow work less well for other people, but I really don‘t know why. Maybe it‘s the kind of scenery they use or a user error or lack of knowledge about procedures/order of IFR flight phases? I really expect a lot from the stuff I‘m using in MSFS, doing true-to-procedure hardcore flightsimming, and BATC is about as good as Vatsim is for me. Infact I use it whenever there‘s no controller online.

I'm with you.  I wouldn't say flawless, but then, I'm far from flawless in using it after a handful of flights.  Given it's Early Access, I'm surprised how impressed I am with it.  With with updates coming in frequently, there's obviously a lot of work going on.  

Well "gee" who would´t known, first allmost whole community shouts, yes release BATC right now, even thougth the dev´s made it clear that it is not finished. But everybody wanted it right now. Then just like I predicted the whining began, BATC gives wrong vectors, It flyes me onto mountain, it is buggy, etc. The community voted and wanted an unfinished product and didn´t let the developers finish their job, so deal with it. I voted against early access, because there has been more than enough these half made products including MSFS 2020 itself.

It's a spin phrase. Solely to bring more money in. I dislike the term mostly because it implies you are a darn lucky person to be ALLOWED to get hold of this product EARLY. Ooooooo buy buy buy! 

'Early' being a relative term, if everyone owns it then it's not early anymore.

Perhaps, if you report this via their Discord they will fix it? Conversely, you could keep moaning about it and hope that the Universe catches on and alters reality accordingly?!

Just don't buy it then? I don't see how "Early Access" is misleading or a "spin phrase". It literally does what it says on the tin, gives you early access to a product that may not yet be finished. There's countless, big, fat, bold warnings on the product page and when you try to pay advising you of just that. It's mind-boggling how people still claim this is a "money grab" or false advertising.

I guess that's why they have to put warnings on products these days like "don't drink the bleach" or "don't put your hamster in the microwave" as clearly people have lost all common sense and ability to think and comprehend before doing and saying things...

I've been using it since it came out and out of 70 flights with it I maybe had 4 with issues. I've had more trouble with some "finished" products than with this one. Most were at the beginning when the TOD logic was bad (never had an issue with that in the last few weeks following all the patches that have already come out) and recently had some vectoring issues where it tried to vector me far too close to the runway threshold. Otherwise it's been very impressive indeed, especially considering that it's still "Early Access".

I was clearly complaining about the phrase itself not this particular product.

I'm impressed by BATC btw, keeping a close eye on it while development continues, features are added, bugs squashed, manuals are written etc etc and might well buy the finished product myself.

Perhaps I did report it, perhaps I did send logs, perhaps you should have checked before adding such a snarky and idiotic post.

Same for me, absolutely happy with BATC. Completely switched over from my "normal" VATSIM flights to BATC flights. For €30 you have controllers everywhere at any time (also at small airports which i was hardly missing on VATSIM to have ATC). And the BASIC VOICES are good enough for me, they sound great. No need to buy the PREMIUM Characters.

So as a longtime VATSIM user i now fly with BATC and with FSLTL Traffic Injector with Realtime Live Traffic (FR24 i think).

CONS at the moment: You don´t "hear" the other planes talking to ATC, but they are working on it - updates every few days...and with LIVE ATC in the background i am quite happy.
