Considering all the time I've spent doing CapFrameX benchmarks, I have no good explanation why I didn't do a before/after comparison. Subjectively however (which doesn't mean much I guess), the sim has never been more stable or performed better than in SU15 beta. I did benchmarks abs on my system there was no difference, regular flying and I'm noticing a lot more fluctuations in FPS than I was getting with SU14. So probably no significant performance increase then. IIRC there was some mentioning in the release notes about memory optimization. But that probably didn't translate into better performance. We got better ground friction modelling and the Neo though 🙂 Can't remember what else SU15 brought. Let's put that down to user error though, as I was using the Map Enhancement mod. I'm in the middle of making a video on SU15 performance after a PC upgrade, so I really hope that server issues won't affect performance - or all the BIOS changes, overclocking and testing will all be in vain... June 25, 20241 yr SU 15 has been a mess for me. Performs far worse than previous. I have reinstalled the sim, upgraded our internet, dusted out the pc..... Only thing I haven't done is pull out my last hair 🙃 Chris Howard
June 25, 20241 yr One of the reasons I reinstalled x-plane is out of frustration at certain times with Microsoft's network bugs and those mandatory patches that do more harm than good. It's the worst thing about MFS, the mandatory updates and having to depend on the connection or servers working properly. Edited June 25, 20241 yr by Aglos77
June 25, 20241 yr Before concluding that it is a MS server issue (which it usually is), It's a good idea to go through a few of the following steps: Reboot your router and PC Update your drivers if required. Rename your community folder Clear your Nvidia cache ( or whatever cache your other GPU uses) Run Ccleaner or delete your temp files manually. Check you are not running low on HD or SSD space and defragment your HD/trim your SSD. Try connecting via a VPN if you have one. Rus MSFS without any external programs running (CPU qnd GPU monitoring software can cause issues). That includes map enhancer, trackIR, Littlenavmap, AutoFPS, navigation software, etc. I'm sure there are a few other steps I take, but feel free to add to that list anything I have forgotten or might spring to mind. Good advice and thanks for highlighting. These are steps I have taken already to no avail unfortunately for me. Chris Howard

We have now identified the root cause and are working towards a long-term solution to prevent this from happening in the future. We believe the issue is now mitigated for almost all cases." I'm assuming this is a server issue and is now being fixed? Fingers crossed they'll catch more in the net with this fix. Great advice, thanks for sharing. I would add the following: I haven't had any issues with AutoFPS, but I agree with not running it as part of a troubleshooting process Try different VPN servers. It's a bit of a hit and miss, but sometimes you hit "jackpot" with server connection and download speeds. I have 2-3 servers that work well most of the time. I always clear the cache in safe mode to get rid of everything. Start menu => Power => Hold shift while clicking restart. Delete everything in these folders: %userProfile%\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache %localAppData%\NVIDIA\GLCache %localAppData%\D3DSCache It might be worthwhile deleting everyting in this folder: %localAppData%\packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SceneryIndexes 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Australia usually results in diabolical speeds though as I think many Australians would attest to (not sure why such an advance country cannot sort out it's broadband speeds). June 26, 20241 yr Hmm I wonder what's up here. I swear this began for me, its first inclines of disconnection, insufficient bandwidth and the like when I first returned to default Bing data in sim after trying the Bing Latest software. I did have a router disconnect a couple of days ago but resolved that quickly with a reboot. June 26, 20241 yr I was noticing stutters and glitches lately but turns out it was being caused by Map Enhancement. Uninstalled it and all smooth sailing again.
