July 20, 20241 yr Hi all, Seems this is the big "Airliner Year" as some of them have already arrived (PMDG 777-300, TDFi MD-11) and I am very happy about that as I am more of an airliner pilot as flying smaller Airplanes. There should be a 727 Frighter version coming in the near future if I am informed correctly. I also expect the FBW A380 and the Boeing 757 ( forgot the developer name ) and PMDG will probably add the whole range of 777 models. Maybe a DC-10, i also saw and read something about it once.. WOWW, what a year, and then also MSFS 2024, the flight simulator hobby seems more or less secured to me, 😍 - what do you guys think ? cheers 😉 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.

Indeed.. the iniBuilds A350 is the other significant high fidelity airliner product due later this year (ini are doing a development update and live Q&A event on Monday when they'll give more details about the A350). FSL also said last month on a forum thread their first MSFS product will be out before MSFS 2024, so <= November (likely A32x, maybe A330 or Concorde). Fenix's A319 and A321 are also due some time this year. I guess we should also count certain MSFS 2024's default fleet ones of medium or higher fidelity that's known of so far: iniBuilds A330 & Beluga, Asobo 737 MAX 48 minutes ago, pmplayer said: WOWW, what a year, and then also MSFS 2024, the flight simulator hobby seems more or less secured to me, 😍 - what do you guys think Couldn't agree more 🙂 ... when it comes to aircraft choices in MSFS from GA to large wide-bodies and everything between, it does seem to be an "embarrassment of riches" situation. July 20, 20241 yr Great provided all these airliners will be compatible with FS2024, which we’re told they should be. Otherwise we’re in that annoying flight sim cycle of the last 30 years whereby the sim is stable and there’s a nice selection of aircraft and everything is great. Then the new must have version pops out and nothing is compatible and we start again, waiting years for products to be updated. And so it continues. Hopefully the promise of backwards compatibility will put an end to this cycle now. 4 years later and still no 747-400 ☹️ 787 captain. But so many 3rd party devs have switched to MSFS now, and finally much of their work, that took multiple years of development, are finally coming to fruition in MSFS. I think the stream of airliners will continue to come to MSFS over the next few years, as there are even other 3rd party devs that haven't released anything for MSFS yet, but their first products for MSFS are coming. Examples are iFly and their 737 Max, and whatever airliners FSLabs has prepared for MSFS. I also think this is what makes MSFS scary. They are starting to reach critical mass with the 3rd party developer scene, and if MSFS 2024 ends up being a success, I can see MSFS increasing its market share in the future Navigraph surveys. July 20, 20241 yr Beyond that, check this out: https://www.arlnow.com/2024/07/16/new-microsoft-flight-simulator-update-greatly-improves-virtual-recreation-of-arlington/ Even hyperlocal newspapers are taking notice of the sim. You never saw stuff like this with P3d - those journos didn't even know it existed. Flight simming is going mainstream, which is going to be a blessing and a curse, but mostly a blessing, I think. Just look at the wealth of controllers we have to choose from now. A few years ago you could get a $100 word not allowed stick from TM, or a $500 mid-quality stick from TM without much in between and now there are dozens of choices. July 20, 20241 yr It certainly has been a year of airliners so far; some remarkably good, others a little less so, but welcome nonetheless. The PMDG 777 Freighter and the FBW A380 are joint top of my waiting list at the moment, but that MD-11 is calling to me too. And FS2024 not far off. 🙂 Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
July 20, 20241 yr There's also the ini A330-200/300, BelugaXL and Asobo's 737 Max coming with MSFS2024's standard edition. 4 hours ago, pmplayer said: I also expect the FBW A380 They've said it won't be this year. Edited July 20, 20241 yr by Tuskin38

I am confident that they will be compatible, but I suspect many may need small adjustments and there is the question of whether developers will update them to take advantage of the latest features in 2024. But, regardless, I suspect all will need some time with the release candidate to be sure the aircraft is working properly and well and so I suspect there will be a delay between 19 November and when we actually get the aircraft released -- I am just hoping before the holidays and when I have some time to fly.
