Taken just by itself that's a pretty niche reason to entirely reject a plane 🙂

Let's not go there.  This thread is about the FSS 727, not Aerosoft.

Rather have the 100 and 200 passenger versions

100 not planned, 200 variant planned in at least 4 months.

I am just wondering how well the Civa INS is modeled. Degradation over time and improving accuracy in flight using VOR

According to their Discord just a few moments ago, INS drift and DME updating just made into the release update.

Of course not, would rather have the 100, but hey we have 50 versions of the A320

So a quick update. The purchase went well. No waiting. 10 mins to download and install. Copy and pasted code from Instant download account and activation was a breeze.

I wanted a quick flight to get her in the air and feel how she flies so I used the crew manager (excellent tool while your learning and getting familiar with the aircraft btw) and did a couple of circuits around NZAA (Auckland NZ) . Did not notice any stutters and I have Flightbeam Auckland installed and Orbx Auckland Cityscape.   She flew like a dream and I think we are going to hear more of how well  the aircraft handles. It feels very nice. Heavy but responsive.  I did flap 40 landings and bounced a bit every time but that's on me. Flaps 40 is not usually recommended but on the short fields that I intend to use it on, it's a must so practice makes perfect. I feel that when I get the feel of this bird it'll be butter landings all the time, it is that stable.

Bugs. Well probably more me than anything else. I did have problems binding No 3 on the Honeycomb Bravo. So much in fact that all my flying was done on two engines with No 3 in ground idle. Should have just shut it down but no failures to worry about anyway. It was a long take off roll at 136,000lbs and for a moment there I thought I was going to recreate the Aerosucre incident without even trying to! Anyway I saw on their discord that said we should not just copy from another profile but do a fresh profile from scratch. So that may have been my problem.  During prep for departure I had all my instruments flashing at one point but I saw that this was actually reflections from the red and white dome lights which were flashing crazily. Don't know why they suddenly started or why they just as suddenly stopped. There is a lot more to learn in slower time now the adrenalin rush is over and there are a few more bugs out there but many of them at the moment are from impetuous users like me that haven't fully read the well structured resource documents and so can't really be relied upon to be actual bugs. As a few more days go by we'll start to see the real bugs manifesting themselves as more time is acquired and experience is gained on the plane. There are no failures modelled (and my gut feeling is they wont be) and no livery or registration based options.  But at this stage, it's very good looking, very nice sounding, systems rich, iconic airliner that flies and handles well, is very age atmospheric, has a bunch of appropriate liveries, documentation and an interesting and practical approach to EFB and checklist assistance tools, and the cockpit windows open with associated extra noise! I'm sure there will be some avionics, AP and instrumentation bugs pop up (there is some heading hunting with associated left and right rolls in the AP in some modes) but they seem keen to support these bugs with regular updates.  This plane effectively dropped out of nowhere and while it's not PMDG level, for $US40 it's just extraordinary and very immersive. Well done FSS!!

Cheers

Someone noted on the other forum that you can purchase through Aerosoft but activate and download through Contrail, if that makes any difference to anyone.
