Can anyone guess this new PMDG project? (photos)...

About the picture I feel like I have seen that detail before but honestly can't say what?  One of the videos recently posted on You Tube mentioned some talk about the possibility of a PMDG turboprop has been discussed internally at PMDG.  We are definitely lacking in that department.  Dash 8 Series?  Maybe PMDG and Majestic teamed up?  Does not seem likely but who knows these days!

I feel in the coming day(s) someone somewhere will solve the puzzle.  I think its logical its another Boeing but that is not totally golden.  I suppose it could be a business jet but I am not sure that would be PMDG's forte.  Not that I have any idea what the PMDG forte is.  Someone asked PMDG not long ago if they could bring the Jetstream 41 into MSFS.  Nice airplane but I am not sure what the real market is for that plane in MSFS?  I doubt its that but who knows?  Anything that PMDG makes will likely be a hit or at least hit enough.

I can't stop being admired at how discussions nowadays take worthless tablets into consideration more than the actual simulator (you know, that thing that actually flies and you should be enjoying).

  • Cause greazer is pretty much a low effort troll at this point baiting the community in nonsensical engagement. If it's not their ridiculous "prediction" posts then its them make making outlandish clai

To be honest, I would be disappointed if good quality classic aircraft did not sell well. I mean, I appreciate that some of you guys only like to fly current types on real world routes, but flight sim

RSR responded to specualtion about the Falcon, with " I wonder about the practicality of market acceptance by our core customer base."

Does that mean the new mystery aircraft isn't very far removed from what we've come to expect from PMDG ? If so, then a 757, 767, or 787 seems likely.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Someone who's into flight simming but work on the airside IRL must know what aircraft it could be. IMO it's only a matter of time before we know what the aircraft is.

AMD 9800X3D,  NZXT X73 RGB AIO COOLER, Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite WIFI7, 64GB 6000MHZ RAM, 4TB Samsung Pro NVME, 4 TB Crucial P3+ NVME, 4TB Crucial SSD, Gigabyte Gaming OC Geforce RTX5090, Antec C8 ARGB Case, X55 JOYSTICK/THROTTLES, LG 4K C4 42" TV/Monitor 120 Hz, 2 Dell 1080 monitors. Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Bravo Throttle. Thrustmaster TPR Pedals. Moza AB6 FFB Joystick, Pimax Crystal Light VR, Tobii Eye tracker, Steelseries Arctis 7+ Wireless Headphones.

After sleeping on it I am going with a 737 Classic and/or a jurassic.  100% pure speculation of coarse since I am going off of memory but I remember seeing that detail in the first picture with the uneven screw patterns on either the engine cowling, wing or that long thing off the engine mount going towards the back on a 737-500 last time I flew on one ten years ago 😳

The lack of discussion about the MAX in the latest press release is meant to be a diversion.  Remember RSR is clever guy.  It has been said the MAX is near completion and will drop with little fanfare during the 777 release schedule.  We must hope PMDG is faithful in that regard and I really don't think they will "just" hand it to IFly.

Also on several forums the demand for the 737 classic is rather high and no developer has touched it yet.  So the opportunity is there.  Some unknown developer mentioned a 737-400 or whatever shortly after MSFS was released but nothing since.  For all we know that person works at PMDG now.

This is all pure speculation of coarse and at my age my memory is jaded.  So take it all with a grain of salt.

It's also possible it's actually nothing and PMDG is using discussions like this one and will consider what the trend is for it's next aircraft?  We can likely rule out the 787, 757 and 767 at this time.  Not much left!

I seriously doubt that PMDG will make yet another version of the 737. Surely that barrel has been well and truly scraped clean over the past decade?

I might buy my first PMDG product if it's a 737-200 or similar. That is, if Blackbird doesn't get there first.

I thought the same thing and RSR had mentioned he was concerned about 737 fatigue in the past.  However if they stick with Boeing what else can be done at this point?

If they created the 737 Classics PMDG would still sell millions of them 737 fatigue or not.  The 737 classics are some of the most versatile planes ever created and nobody is doing one right now!

757… that’s where I’m putting my bet.

If PMDG wants my money it needs to be a classic steam gauge plane of some sort. Sooooo tired of the modern stuff.

Blackbird is doing one.

Taking a punt on these being from another Boeing airliner.

If so, the 717 and the 787 are free from significant competition:

  • The Leonardo MD-80 is 'overpriced' and both the sound pack and cockpit textures aren't at MSFS level.
  • The freebie Asobo / Horizon modded 787 isn't complex airliner territory.

TFDi has made it fairly clear that they're doing a 717 next.

They are doing the 737-200 and that is taking a long while without a lot of new news.  It was also mentioned recently on some forum somewhere that it will strictly be the Nolinor combi configuration limiting what can be done with it.  I am starting to think the Blackbird 737-200 is vaporware at this point as it has been an ongoing project for 2 or 3 years but who knows maybe it will just drop this upcoming fall season.

The Classics are considered the 737-300 ,400 and 500 and the 200 is considered a Jurassic.  All unofficial 737 slang!

I doubt it would be a 757 since the Bluebird project is so far along unless PMDG took that project over.  That will be big news if that is the case.

Its pretty much either a 737 Classic or a 787 unless PMDG goes non Boeing.  I think they have a pretty solid relationship with Boeing and have access to a lot of Boeing data others don't have.  Being a Boeing is not exactly golden but its pretty logical its that.

Well, it's not an L-1011, they have Tri-Wing fasteners.

Yea, and if so that would be the best news of the day, but I think this brilliant aircraft would never make from PMDG..😏

cheers 😉
