Where were you flying?

If you have a mode S transponder, many European countries will assign a 1000 squawk code, and your aircraft will then be identified by its unique mode S address. If you want to get around this (so you get a discrete squawk code), I guess you could change your aircraft's equipment codes in Simbrief. (In real life, this would of course be a no-no, but this is just the sim.)

Bingo, that must have been it. I was flying around Europe a lot, to test the different voice accents. Last night I did a flight from KCLE to KMKE and got a different squawk.

Thanks Mate 👍.

Wow, it's cool that BATC has that detail.

In the USA at least it's very typical to get a new squawk code as you transition between ARTCC boundaries.  (In your example you'd go from Cleveland center to Chicago center)

I would tell you something like "N12345, reset transponder, squawk four two one two"

**Major Update 1.3.2.Experimental**
```Traffic - Enroute traffic added, i.e. flights that are travelling from or to airports other than the ones the player is flying from and to.
Traffic - The single density slider has been split into 4 sliders for parked, departing, arriving, enroute traffic. 5 is still the suggested value to start with for each.
Traffic - Improved livery matching to reduce 'blank' livery matches.
Traffic - Improved separation handling between player and following aircraft, which should prevent the player being overtaken on final.
Traffic - Add pauses between communication sets to player to more easily contact ATC in busy airspace.
Traffic - Adjust the target cruise, climb and descent speed for traffic aircraft.
Traffic - Improve positioning of ground aircraft on arrival when they were sometimes misaligned with gates.
Traffic - Improve issue with traffic sometimes waiting forever to cross a runway.
Performance - Rework to BATC core engine - this should prevent BeyondATC being throttled by windows under certain system configurations. Check the BeyondATC FPS counter that you can activate from the options menu to confirm 60FPS (or 30FPS in low performance mode) - note this is the FPS of BeyondATC not the sim.
Procedures - Fix incorrect altitudes in some arrival procedures with complex alt constraints.
Comms - Fix issue with ATC reading back comms to traffic aircraft at high speed and the entering generating speech loop if player interrupts ATC under certain conditions
Runway allocation - Prevent unsuitable runways being picked for aircraft that are too short for the aircraft type.
Premium Voice updates - Additional Korean / Italian / Japanese / Czech / Norwegian / Romanian / Canadian / Brazilian / Portuguese / Swedish voices.
Premium Voice updates - Change UK Female co-pilot voice.
Voices - Adjust background effect volume.
Fatal errors - More fatal error fixes based on reports in support forum.
Pilot Portal - Deployment of Pilot Portal. More information to follow in a separate announcement.
BATC Wiki - Deployment of BATC Wiki page. More information to follow in a separate announcement.```
*Please note: This update will delete all your saved settings as the underlying data structure as changed. You will need to set your settings back to their previous state as well as re-enter your Simbrief ID. Apologies for the inconvenience.*
- Pilot Portal: This is a place to add custom data for BATC such as your virtual airline callsigns, VOR and Procedure information. If you're a registered BATC customer, you may log in with your account credentials and submit a change. Your change will go through a review process and, if accepted, will be added to BeyondATC for everyone to benefit from! We will be expanding this portal to include all sorts of data such as wind ops, SOPs and more! *Please note: all submissions are tied to your account. If you submit troll data or intentionally false information this will result in an immediate ban of your account from BATC and Discord and will render your account ineligible for a refund. Do not do this.*
- BeyondATC Wiki: For all new pilots, this Wiki will teach you all the ins and outs of BeyondATC and help you get on your feet from your first flight onward. The wiki is packed full of useful information, so check it out even if you're a sesasoned pilot!
- Traffic Map: If you're a Supporter and have access to traffic you can now check out all the traffic injected into the sim from BATC using this handy traffic map! A reminder that only traffic within 50nm of the player has to be in the sim, the rest is only in BATC. This is a side project to BeyondATC and is provided 'as is' without support. Please keep in mind if you're not a supporter, traffic will be coming to all customers of BeyondATC free of charge in time.
HUGE Update 😍
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D,
MSI RTX 5090,
64GB RAM 6000MHz DDR5,
Tuf Gaming X870Plus, 1200W PSU
English is not my first language.
I just test the the new version a wow  this is another  level of controlling traffic. there are two areas now the blue where they inject the traffic on the sim and the purple where the aircraft are not injected on the sim  but they are on the ATC control and they still communicating with ATC, nice way to have far traffic but without drop performance.
Interesting update: BATC seems to be catching up with FSHud again. 😉 I will definitely give this one a try this evening! (Isn't it great that there's competition?!?)
Yeah they're playing catch up with FSHud now.  I'll stick to that, although wish these guys all the best.
The vectoring still needs lots of work.
I just did a flight to Billund and it vectored me about 80 miles from the airport onto the extened centerline. And only descended me  to FL183 keeping me at FL250 forever.
Instead of letting me continue to the TMA, descending me to FL100 and then starting to vector me to the IAF.
That's really something that needs attention.
BATC will have to wait for now because the update removed all settings and also the login and now it won't accept my login credentials and requesting a new password also is impossible. And yes, I am 1000% sure I am using the correct credentials. (I am pretty OCD when it comes to documenting everything related to any purchase I make.) I see on Discord there are more people who are having problems with 100% correct credentials. You have to mail them to (hopefully) solve this and it may take 2 to 3 days before they reply so... back to FSHud for 2 to 3 days at least. 😉
I only saw one complaint  on Discord, and they were using the wrong case when resetting their password.
Report it on the discord
Guess you haven't visited their Discord for a few hours then. There are quite a few customers who said they really do know what there login and e-mail is (and what 'case sensitive' means) but they still can't log in. It seems to work for some but not for others.
Edited by mistolip
So I solved my (!) problem with logging in. I had my username changed quite a few months ago for personal reasons. It took some effort of my old brain to remember what that old username was (because it was one I quickly had to make up during the very first install of BATC because BATC had some (imho) odd requirements back then) but I suddenly remembered it, used it to log in and... it worked instantly. So I can give the new version a try anyway tonight.
Odd though that the username change wasn't somehow registered in the deeper parts of the BATC database...
