With all respect is there an aircraft flying that hasn’t come to grief at some time. The 707, 727, Lockheed Electra, Dehavland Comet, 747 and the list is perpetual. All unfortunate of course.

The -7 will be certified early next year.  The -10 is a different creature; it'll probably still happen given the number of orders Boeing already has for it, but there are different systems considerations, it's not just a longer -9.

I heard Boris from Boris Audio Works is doing the sound package for this. If so, that alone is worth the purchase. 

Stay on topic and stop relating to the real 737 and it's problems!

I think iFly has a training contract to develop the -8, they haven’t made it clear that they have any plans beyond that.

This bird could drop soon, possibly this week. Keen to try some RNAV approaches using IAN. Pmdg IAN capture has always been broken. Zibo nailed it.

I browsed the iFly forum and it looks they have been asked a few times if they will be doing other variants of the 737 Max?  At this time they can neither claim nor deny they are working on other variants.  These questions go back off and on since they announced the project back in 2023.  I take it that is a pretty solid "NO" we will ever see other variants of the Max from iFly. 

I think iFly does a pretty solid job but at this time I will not consider the Max from them as other variants are important to me.  I will wait for the PMDG version since they plan to do other variants and it will be consistent with the NG series they already put out.  However its a bit concerning PMDG has been surprisingly quiet on its 737 Max project!

I guess we will just have to wait and see how everything plays out?  If it ends up being that the iFly is the only Max we get that one will just have to do!

Up to you. You could be waiting a long time if their plans have changed. Also I am only moderately happy with Pmdg 737. And it seems like a stale legacy product that isn't being improved.

From what we have seen and know about the IFly (ie modelling, textures, lighting, tablet, Boris audio etc), it could be far superior to the Pmdg Max.

Its possible PMDG abandoned it and they have been awfully quiet about it lately.  I think they have denied this recently on its forum but many have requested an update and have come up empty which is a bit odd.   

If PMDG has abandoned it I won't have much choice but to get the iFly.  I don't doubt the iFly will be a superior product.  In fact I hope iFly does officially announce other variants even if they are a ways out and eventually the NG's.  I was always a bit turned off that PMDG decided we did not need a non winglet model which could have been easily done.  

I will just wait and see and who knows?  If the iFly ends up being super cool and they sell lots of them I might just change my mind and it will be a no brainer if they at least announce the other versions will be in the works!

I did take a chance with the Fenix A320 in the hopes they announce the A319 and the A321 and they eventually did.  Same could be the case for iFly!

Last I checked IAN was ok.

Looking at some old interview videos by Robert at PMDG the 737 Max is considered a side project and that nothing will be announced about its release.  We will just wake up one day and it will be available to place in your shopping cart.  About the only solid hint is this will occur during the 777 release phase which is right about now!

It could be a lot of hot air and it does seem just a tiny bit odd PMDG would decide not to promote it but that is what Robert Randazzo has said.  With the release of the iFly 737 Max being possibly imminent PMDG might just decide to drop the Max like...NOW!

Is it confirmed the iFly Max release is actually imminent?  It looks pretty solid but if I had to take a wild guess its a little bit out.  Like between now and the end of the year kind of deal.  Of coarse with the release of FS2024 coming very soon now that is possibly a wrench in the spokes kind of situation.  Same for the PMDG Max!

    

I think this could be a fine and interesting release and i like the Idea to have an other MAX as the PMDG one..

Nothing is confirmed.

I expect it will be out within the next week or two. At worst, by end of month. Pmdg Max is a non starter (put on back burner)

Why do you think so ? There is literally not a single indication for a release in the next weeks or months. Nothing changed since may/june.
