Said addon is not sold in the Marketplace.

Plus with every update Asobo has always asked us to empty the community folder because of possible compatibility issues

"I agree" doesn't mean what you think it means. He said the opposite of what you're arguing. 

You don't make the rules for third-party stores. They're regulated by the TOS and by the law, neither of which is on your side.

I don’t recall having the ability to install navigraph airac updates through the marketplace, do you?

Im sure all this drama will settle in a few days and navigraph will fix it. I have a subscription myself, but I can live without it until fixed… 

Before I commented, I didn't realise it only affected the sim database, not PMDG, etc. No biggie 🙂

For those who are less interested in the legalisms, etc., and more interested in flight simming itself, I can report that temporarily renaming the Community folder before starting MSFS in anticipation of the update and then deleting the newly created Community folder immediately after updating and quitting MSFS while changing the name of the original back to "Community" yielded a working flight sim, at least for me.

Having reported that, I can also say that I have never in the past bothered with this and cannot recall an occasion on which a problem ensued, so this is a novel situation, at least for some of us. No big deal, but certainly avoidable with even a short public beta. Indeed, I can't imagine a way to avoid such glitches without that beta, but others may be more clever.

So, basically, this is more a bug fix and 2-3 improvements than what we got with AAU2 (which turned 2 default airliners into almost payware quality), right?

We are like 10 responses down from the original point so its not responding to the exact situation.  Yes its not in marketplace.  The original point was the MS should do some testing outside the sandbox with 3rd party products (which they literally always do during open betas).  This was the first non-open beta I've seen in a while and what do you know we got a bunch of CTD.  I was then told that they should only have to make sure it works in the sandbox which I argued isn't reasonable because they literally sell 3rd party content directly to consumers in the in-game store.  

The original point before it divulged was for a company that makes so much $ in facilitating 3rd party sales they really should do a better job on updates to not break things and then blame devs who never even had an idea that something was changing.

That constant chatter are from a clueless few, or the disingenuous few... I mean, after all what has been publicized numerous times in recent weeks/months, it should be clear these silly narratives just fall flat in the face of reality. From the set of improvements/fixes in MSFS 2024 to this very AAU3 (and various AAUs and SUs), it should be clear that "most priorities" are *NOT* for "visual improvements". Oh, and that "career" thing is also funnily enough a real world thing being simulated in MSFS 2024, and before the usual few jump in with the usual narrative.. no, career/aviation support is not coming at the expense of core simulation improvements.

Which they do.. for products in the marketplace as has been demonstrated.

as been told to you before, it’s not their job to maintain compatibility with external 3rd party products.

Can I bookmark this for when they mess up a MP add-on again? Y'all really need to get on the same page, first they are not responsible for 3rd party content as their sandbox only worries about the base program during updates (What I was first told).  To now they check EVERY marketplace addon for compatibly before updating.  They do not.  There are plenty of MP addon airports that were broken due to updates that the dev had to fix.  They didn't CTD but they were definitely broken.  

MS doesnt check any addon compatibility, but they should.

No checking every add on compatibility would be.  I'm sorry I just cant accept that you choose to not do an open beta and then your update CTD with one of the most widely used add ons in the market.  Its a self inflicted error.

I never explicitly said that. A broken addon is different to one causing CTDs.
