  • it's probably cool if we end the arguing and get back to talking about the update itself.  The line of code with the issue has been identified.  Navigraph gave a work around.  Asobo will likely fix it

No one said it's Navigraph's fault.

It's navigraph's responsibility.

IE: an incompatibility is found, and now it's Navigraph's responsibility to either find a solution on their side or reach out for help. Their response "it's a sim problem" is highly irresponsible.

If Navigraph have correctly built their nav data to the current spec given to them by Asobo/MS, then NO this is NOT Navigraph's responsibility.

If that is the case then Navigraphs response is absolutely correct and it is 100% a sim problem because it's been caused by a change to the sim that Navigraph have no knowledge of or warning about.

I don’t recall having the ability to install navigraph airac updates through the marketplace, do you?

do you recall a marketplace product causing CTDs?

Yes, on at least two occasion MSFS was crashing when Carenado planes (which at the time were only available on the marketplace) were installed.

Which they do.. for products in the marketplace as has been demonstrated.

as been told to you before, it’s not their job to maintain compatibility with external 3rd party products.

If they publish a specification for 3rd parties to interact with MSFS then MS have a responsibility to customers to ensure they correctly support that specification.

Okay, I have removed the Navigraph data and the sim still won't load (only does in safe mode)

great job MS. Any hints? I have zillion of addons, removing them one by one is out of the question

I have no idea where that is. I deleted the base folder and MSFS works so I am ok for now.

What you mean you have no idea where that is? How did you get your Navigraph Airac into the sim in the first place? Where do you update it?

somone on here found the issue in 10 mins. again its not rocket science this to spend an hour or 2 testing with some addons.  this issues has plauged us in the community for over 10 years now,  the lack of basic testing on all addons, wether it be afcads, textures of fan blades, ils freq's, runway numbers etc .  its not difficult.

They have thousands of addons on the marketplace, so testing all of them would take considerable amount of resources….And no, Navigraph is far from being “the most popular addon” among the whole community, except for a few of the elites here on avsim..

And btw, correct me if Im wrong, you cant even buy navigraph subscription in the marketplace,,, so your whole point of MS having any responsebility is moot…

Unfortunately MSFS has forced updates, so not entirely. There’s no backward compatibility they need to adhere to.

though I do fully agree MSFS should’ve done some kind of beta.

In that case, I’m bite my tongue on the subject.

Found it Navigraph hub. Now ask me when I opened that the last time. Must be a year ago.

OK, I Uninstalled anything Navigraph using the Navigraph Hub...Started MSFS and updated, NP, in fact very fast update @ 450mb, I have never seen speeds like that before...Just curious, can I now Reinstall The Navigraph Hub files or are we waiting for a solution from Navigraph themselves?

It might be better to wait Tom,

I just did the update and had a CTD while starting the sim as I was reading this thread. I used the Navigraph Hub to remove all Data files from the community folder leaving the NavData for Fenix & PMDG and the sim started

I think I answered my own question...I Reinstalled everything "Navigraph", restarted MSFS and it Loaded to the Main Menu with no issues. I did not start a flight either.
