But it ain't 2020 ! 2020 was released prematurely, SDK was not near what it is right now and none of developers were familiar with MSFS. I think transition this time will be different.

Has this 7th november release date been officially confirmed? That's really a bad strategy. I mean they could just release it right now as it is and it would still apparently be better than 90% of the releases we've seen so far.

Where did that 7th of november come from then?

This is the first time that I have seen so many previewers not using legacy mode for mouse controls.  I think the ifly devs specifically told the previewers to use lock mode which is the default mouse control method to interact with buttons in msfs .

 

I'm hopeful that they have good (and logical) LVARS so I can program my hardware via spad.next to mostly bypass mouse interactions.  

Don't worry guys. In this week's MS/Asobo develper's live stream it was clearly stated by the Asobo devs that MSFS2024 will be fully backwards compatible and that all of your MSFS2020 aircraft can be installed into MSFS2024 straight away and will work just like in MSFS2020.

I've seen many using legacy mode.

That's the key I'm much more excited about a modern 737 than another version of the .sim, as advanced as it is I'm not willing to go back to default aircraft like the beginning of 2020 while I can enjoy great addons in other versions and other simulators either.

Who are you watching?  All the recent preview videos of the aircraft  from 320 pilot, XP72, Chewwy94, twotonemurphy, flightdeck2sim, Blackbox711, CST Gaming are all not using legacy mode.

So I'm pretty sure the ifly devs specifically told the previewers to not use legacy mode and instead use the default mode.   I think some of the  buttons don't work in legacy mode.

I don't understand what you're looking at. I watched BB711, XP72, and FD2S. When they hovered over controls, I didn't see any blue highlights or lock mode indicators. They have to use the mousewheel for everything because iFly has custom controls.

ifly has custom controls? In lock mode you have to use the mouse wheel to rotate the knobs where as in legacy a icon comes up when you hover your mouse over the buttons to indicate rotation.  

Also I think you can disable the indicators in lock mode.

Yes, they have custom controls. For better or worse, you have to use the mousewheel for everything, so no clicking left/right for knobs, for example. Again, I saw no indicators that the streamers were having to use lock mode.

Any more details for the custom controls? Looks awfully like lock mode.

This is what happens when they refuse to make new innovations to their code. RSR brags about his C++ code library that is what all of their systems are based out of. If you paid attention when MSFS 2020 was launched, the major delay was that there was no way for the simulator to talk to his ancient code. 
 

Now it takes them 20 times longer to actually rewrite anything that actually works with the simulator. With that mentality of theirs I can say I’m not surprised. 
 

Then when I sit back and remember that they charged me $77.30 for a single variant of a plane that uses the old code with recycled fuel pump sounds. Just ridiculous.
