AIG models - Nav lights broken

Featured Replies

I'm using FSHud as injector and I can choose from FSLTL or AIG.. I have both set up and have tested both.. neither is bug free..

FSLTL:

1. Nav lights work at night and make for pretty plane spotting at night.. nice strobe/nav light effects for distant AI in the night sky..

2. FSLTL sometimes can become unresponsive with FSHud (happened in 2 flights to me). Also AI behavior is wonky at times.

3. Live traffic means I cannot fly at night time when airports are closed.. have to depend on real time schedules..

AIG:

1. Offline traffic - so I can fly whenever and wherever I want.. bgl based injection and not live traffic..so that's convenient for my needs.

2. Behaves very well with FShud.. no crazy AI behavior like FSLTL..

3. Only problem is Nav lights do not work at all !!

So my question is:

Can I use AIG with FSLTL models (latest 1.4 from FBW installer)? That way, I get the best of both..

I know people use FSLTL with AIG models.. but I'm asking for the other way around.. is that possible?

Is there any workaround for the broken nav lights on AIG models? can Kaiii or someone comment on this?

appreciate any help I can get!

I dont think it is possible to use FSLTL models with AIG plans unless you do a cumbersome manual approach. There is a lightfix around in the discord of AIG though, but in my case with varying results. There is also some .xml modifications around over there, also with varying results. On top, it seems that the main model conversion person is somehow overhauling the AIG models regarding LODs and lights, but honestly, I loose track of what is already implemented and what still needs "fixing" via modifications several times now.

My Effects folder in C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community\aig-aitraffic-oci-beta\Effects is empty. Yours too?

PS: there is another folder:

C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community\aig-aitraffic-effects and the files are here.

Try this light fix tool for AIG. I use AIG with BATC and after running this I finally get traffic with lights!

I find neither of the available traffic options is perfect but AIG has the biggest variety and now that the lights work it’s my preferred option.

Do you guys really get NAV lights working on AIG planes while they are on ground using the tool? I used it several times now, all I see is NAV lights suddenly appear the moment the plane takes off...

Yep, on the ground.

You also shouldn't need to use the tool several times?  You run it once make the changes and that's it.  Make sure MSFS and AIG aren't running.

It was glorious last night seeing Nav lights all over the airport

you need to run it if you update the models via AIG manager

Yes, after each verify setup or model update in the AIG AI Manager, you need the tool to run again.

Strange, why does it not work on my end? No NAV lights on ground... @Kaiii3?
