Is Rex Atmos causing CTD

Featured Replies

CTDs can be caused by using the wrong video driver. Try a different driver. Try without any add-ons on your community folder.

I have not bought it yet, but it looks like a must have add-on for MSFS 2020.

Spot on. No other product I have has to use hacks to manipulate memory. As it seems and based on the feedback here, this has unintended consequences for numerous users that never had issues before. My

This discussion is getting quite hilarious. There’s about half a dozen people in this thread alone who get CTDs only with Atmos. There’s more people with various issues/CTDs and odd PC behaviour linke

  • I have flown every flight with Atmos since its release and have not experienced even one CTD, or other issue for that matter.  That is (12) flights averaging 1.9 hours per flight. (I maintain my "offi

I know how to avoid crashes and other problems. By not using Atmos.

There is no need for testing drivers or emptying community folder. I have had no crashes until installing and using Atmos. So I stopped using it. And lo and behold, no crashes.

Same here, I have been into flight simulation for long enough to know and just a bit of a coincidence I had my first CTD in ages the same day I started using Atmos. When reading how it works that's not even a big surprise. Now flying without it, I thought I'd miss it more but I actually don't really mind. It's one of those "looks dramatic when compared to default" addons that I somehow don't actually miss very much when returning to default...

Hopefully MSFS24 eliminates the need for this kind of product in the first place - less things to run in the background and cause issues. One thing I really don't miss is that awful user interface and the guesswork of "has it applied the presets I wanted?" after having to re-select said preset every single time I fly...

Alrighteeeee then!

Having the same problem with ATMOS ctd for no reason.

If you are having an issue with Atmos and CTD please file a support ticket at: https://rexaxis.com. Please upload your Windows Event Log and any log files located in the LOG folder where REX is installed.

No CTD, no issues at all except a few artifacts here and there, but nothing that prevents me from taking advantage of this excellent and highly recommended tool.

Everybody's PC is different with different background apps running, so this can happen whether it involves "memory injection" or not.

But common sense tells you, that issues are far more probable if an addon is messing with memory injection.

Thére must be something you al have in common that causes a crash wheh usung REX Atmos

Many like me do not have CTD’s.

I might be another addon and I don’t think it would be a scenery addon.

ATC addon, weather addon, traffic addon or a certain 3rd party aircraft , to name a few….

Just flew slightly over 2 hours with Atmos active.  No problem.  It must be peoples different configurations and / or background apps.

That seems possible. I haven't had any CTD issues with Atmos, been using it since release.
