love it. Comes about 2 years too late

Is there some benefit over using Simbrief in a browser on a 2nd display?  Does it have other features or what have you?

  • Me personally, I like having navigraph and simbrief on my iPad. But I can understand how it can appeal to a lot of people, specifically for VR users.

  • It is one of the best integrations of a third party app.

  • This was fixed in the last update: https://forum.navigraph.com/t/release-notes-simbrief-dispatch-for-msfs/17488

From what I understand a benefit might be that you can load the SB plan into the sim directly from this panel. So you do not have to download the plan using SB in a browser and then load the saved plan into the sim. Of course this only is a benefit if you actually like to do this. I myself fly the SF50 and can load SB plans directly into the G3000 without having to do anything for it. I don't have the need to load plans into the sim itself.

I just do the Flight Plan inSimbrief,, then use the simbrief downloader to load it into all my aircraft, FS 2020, Avliasift EFB, and anywhere else it is needed with one click. Entire operation from start to finish takes about 60 seconds.  So what is the gain in using this new method?

Nice, but it seems like fuel and payload are not automatically added before hitting "fly".  So that still needs to be done by downloading simbrief in the cockpit or manual if simbrief download is not integrated into the cockpit (e.g., Longitude).

No need to download from Simbrief site if you have Navigraph Hub, which most of us have, you can install it from here!

No it absolutely does not.

Dispatch fuel is not what you actually load up. What Simbrief calculates is the absolute minimum fuel you legally need to fly. Any unforseen deviations from your taxi time, a longer hold and you fly with less fuel than you need. It's your job to decide how much more than that you will actually load. Therfore automatically loading the exact number that Simbrief calculates is a bad idea and the reason why for example GSX always loads up a bit more than simbrief suggests.

Same with payload. Just because Dispatch plans a certain payload, doesn't mean you will actually take off with that exact load. There will always be no shows, or someone bringing more luggage than planned.

That you don't need a second display, saving money and energy costs. 😉

Apologies, if this is silly, been away with health issues but does this mean I no longer have to save my simbrief FP to a folder and then load it into the native MSFS planner using the Load from PC function?

That would be a nice improvement!

It works for me, but only in case you click the mouse over the top menus (for example, to re-select the departing point, a runway or a parking spot, which indeed is exactly what you'd like to do), otherwise if you hit the mouse over the world map it'll create a custom waypoint and the simbrief window will still remain in place.

Thanks again for the useful hint.

I could swear there's a close button on the lower left. Need to check again.

Don't know as I haven't tried that. But I think you can if you click on the 'saved flights' button in the app sidebar menu.

Some info and screenshots of the UI here: https://navigraph.com/blog/simbrief-msfs

Thank you again very much appreciate the answer and the link.
