Is anyone getting occasional stutters in your headset?

I have a crystal light and I will be flying along really smooth (I can turn my head really fast back and forth and it is smooth) and about every 5 minutes or so (it varies) my headset feels likes it is 5 fps.

If I turn my head the picture will stutter to catch up. This lasts for a few seconds then back to normal.

Never had this in 2020. Not a deal breaker but annoying.

Yes I am getting this with 2020.  I have my dynamic settings set at 30fps and it’s there and smooth a majority of the time and then I will have a big stutter for several seconds and then it clears back up.

Sounds like what I am experiencing in 2024, but I didn't have this issue in 2020, really strange.

I get it in both 20 and 24. Currently it's worse in 24

Honestly, I don't have any major complaints over performance.  In fact, it's pretty smooth overall.  I'm using a G2, with a 3080 and 5800x3d.  Running mostly medium settings with DLSS performance (haven't updated the swap file).  Using the OpenXR Toolkit to force a resolution of 2800x2800 or so. 

It's all the little bugs that are really putting a damper on things for me.  Especially the mouse bug.  I just don't understand how on earth the sim ships with that bug.  It's infuriating.

This indeed is super annoying! I have also a bug when i enter VR, a big black square appears right in front of me...have to exit and enter vr again..very perturbing!

Yes, I have seen this bug mentioned countless times.  I honestly haven't had it happen yet on my end, luckily.

My experience is a letdown to be honest. I am using a pimax crystal light , 4090 and 14900kcpu , 64gb ddr5.

I am using the pimax recommended settings but it is a stuttery mess. Performance a lot worse than msfs2020! also with a lot of tweaking

Night lights are totally unrealistic ( also outside of the airport) Way to much bloom at nightand colors are off.

I just bought 2024 today , against better judgement ..... i am going back to 2020 !

Update: Found out my stutters are related to using DLSS.

When I switched to TAA, almost all of the stuttering has gone away. I still get the occasional stutter but it has improved about 95%.

Are you using the latest DLSS file and not the one shipped with the sim?

No, I am using everything stock in the sim.

I am having other issues such as crashes, so I did not want to change anything before I get that sorted. 

I do plan on updating the DLSS once I get the sim stable for me.

You may well find it improves stability if you update it... it cant hurt thats for sure...

Yesterday testing, with all low or off, FS24 gets almost smooth like FS20 (60Hz HP G2, TAA, 100% resolution), with constant small stutters not too much bothersome. And the Live air traffic was great in ULTRA, with the no generic models anymore but real HD models despite FS24 not having them itself in Community folder/library etc. (767s, A380, etc., etc.), brilliant, hope that works also with online aircraft users for their aircrafts when online. Some AI models with solvable bugs, even I was in close formation with two real live F-18 traffics, really fun haha, and very important, SMOOTH real live traffics close to them in the air.

And today test with the new AutoFps app special for FS24.

And I like more the day/night/sky/colours/clouds lighting than FS20.

FS24 is getting there if they continuous improving and solving bugs and issues like my XBox gamepad RT/LT axis, and un-encrypting aircrafts for modders etc..

Apologies for saying some days ago that in VR FS24 vs FS20, FS24 was a pile of pöö hahah, worse yes, for me.

This should have been a go-around by Asobo but Microsoft is paying for the fuel.

Minimums...continue!
