That folder name looks more like one for MSFS 2024  Certainly the last part.

It does not...

The Amateurs at Asobo actually listened to that one poster that said they should cannibalize the 2020 servers.

Absolute shambles from Microsoft to have MSFS2020 adversely affected by MSFS2024. They’ve really surpassed themselves this time. I actually can’t remember a worst launch of any title in recent times.

I did a flight yesterday evening in MSFS2020, a bit more than one hour with the Icon flying over Vancouver and going to land in Concrete Muni. There were no problems at all, my addons are still there, the sim started and loaded normally, no long loading time, no impact on performance, no messages about bandwith, no issues. The sim worked perfectly.

And concerning the sim suddenly asking to download 133 Gb, this is a common issue that happens whenever your XBox Live profile is not connected perfectly anymore. The solution has always been to shut down the sim immediately, go the the XBox app, force a logoff and logon again for your profile, and start the sim again. And if it still asks to download 133 Gb of data, you should simply point it to the actual path in which you had the sim installed originally. It will find the files and now download anything.

I have flown 6 or 7 flights in MSFS2020 using the Fenix A320 SL since MSFS2024 launched - no problems.

Ah one difference I noticed though: there was NOBODY in the skies 😄

Usually I can see many people in the surrounding skies when I fly MSFS2020... but yesterday, despite being in quite a busy part of the globe, there wasn't a single nameplate in the sky... Everybody is flying MSFS2024 already 😄

Did FACT-EGLL last night - much better than the previous 2 days. No bandwidth messages and weather/scenery loading fine. Hopefully they fixed in '20 whatever broke when '24 was released.

Managed to fire up '24 finally too. I think it's going to be quite a while before I transition to the new sim. Might dabble a bit with the new Career mode and VFR flying there but it's far from being ready for the type of flying I do with scheduled airliner ops. Will be interesting to see if some of the developers will reconsider their stance of "'24 only" for new aircraft etc.

I can see the future potential of '24 but I think it might well be 6-12 months before the sim is in a state that one can simulate airliner ops. Things like AI traffic and weather seem to be an issue right now. I use BATC and looks like sim weather is now tied to sim time with no option to still have a different time with current weather. Now, I was a big advocate for adding historic weather so I love that it's in there, but not having the option to revert to current time if needed causes issues for people flying online or using things like BATC (hopefully they will add historic weather support for '24 ASAP).

Until then I'll continue to enjoy everything that '20 has to offer. Great to have a choice as long as the servers for '20 don't break again. One thing I did notice is that a lot of the addon Discords I use have gone quiet - really quiet! I hope that doesn't mean devs will just drop '20 now and move on to '24.

2020 in the UK last night was back to normal, had some wonderful flights, I mean i've seen some career stuff where its says 'deliver back this plane to a customer, he might be on ground so make sure to land well'

I mean who wasn't already imagining things like that? Why do some people need their hands held, lack of imagination?

I noticed alot of devs on there saying they wouldn't be touching 2024 with a barge pole until further notice because they never had a chance to work with the SDK. I thought that was good news for 2020.

Stalker 2 devs just getting ripped a bit too (al be it they were doing it in a war zone), same old same old, devs release betas and half arsed games with many fans promising it will all be good in a few years..... sad how it got to this point...

Would be interesting to see some numbers.

How many went with 2024 straight on release?

How many still flying 2020?

It gets worse every day/evening - at least on my side.

(glad I didn't buy 2024 so far - it would be a nightmare with this bandwith from Germany)
