too late for another Game of the Year award 2024

There was a whole post about how MSFS wasn't in the game of the year award running just the other day before it was released...

I think we got to the bottom of the mystery LOL

  • I have a hotfix its called MSFS2020.

  • Well I'm moving over to Train Sim World 5, for a while.  If I am going to watch a train wreck, I might as well be in the right simulator for it.

  • Well, all of this chaos was fully expected (by me). That's why waiting and watching all of it unfold. Pretty similar to FS2020 on release.

I would assume the hotfix is for other bugs that are not related to server issues? (Those exist too... 😉

Well that is like changing a tire while driving down the road if they don't fix the root problem that the game is unplayable. un-installable or un-launchable for the masses.

'A lot of issues'. Wonder which, specifically.

Hopefully the gear not retracting in the PC24 lol.

If you start that plane cold and dark many switches don't function.  I had to start on the runway to get anything working

Yeah, you think someone might have noticed that the gear doesn't work!

Someone probably did, but there's a difference between noticing and reporting a problem and someone actually fixing it.

What support told you this?  It seems to counter what they told Tom's...  This was as of 16 hours ago.  Curious where the OP got his information.

MSFS 2024 database is still overwhelmed, and Microsoft has no timeline for fixing it.

They didn't tell Tom's Hardware anything.

Yes, Tom's Hardware is long dead. It's purely a clickbait site now, just like the Tech Report and Anandtech (not yet, but likely soon).

Tom's watched the same video we all did (with Jorg, Seb, and Jayne), and misunderstood what Seb said, and wrote an article with incorrect information. They didn't interview MS or do anything resembling journalism.

Great! It's nice to see someone take decisive action instead of merely complaining.
