Yesterday I did my first special mission and received an S. When the game exited back to the HQ screen it crashed. When I reloaded the game and reentered career mode my pilot rating was degraded from a high B to a mid C.

No. Real time mission are identidfied with a red dot. Most of the mission are not real time / real wheater as far as I can tell.

No. Real time mission are identidfied with a red dot. Most of the mission are not real time / real wheater as far as I can tell.

You get live weather once you’ve done your IFR test…

in saying that that exam is buggy - ATC asks you to do RNAV 9 circle to land RW24, but everything is set up / planned for ILS RW 27. You still pass with the RW27 landing. 

Also lost a lot of reputation with the tornado special mission crashing after finishing, but the pay out was good - like 16000!! Allowed me to get another rating 

The idea is there but it needs alot of work.

Penalties:

Flaps overspead penalty: i get Penalties on some aircraft for overspeading with flaps down for take off, and when speed is under overspeed for flaps for landing i still get 6 at a time if it aint gonna get fixed then remove it.

Overflying airport without announcement: i understand this BUT every single time i announce this my ATC breaks like i cant announce that im on Final approach, cant notify landing, can't request taxi to parking nothing so i get penalized for all these things and get my bonus ripped out from under me. Either fix or remove.

 

Preflight inspection.

On every flight you HAVE to preflight inspect your plane wether its yours or someone elses, so when you purchase your plane after obtaining 25k creds then you do preflight checks to she what condition is in but not with a companies plane? You never know if they serviced the plane your given but point is you always gotta inspect the plane before starting it and before even moving it for taxi and take off.

 

Flight patterns.

Now on a decent amount of these flight patterns that are set you can legit just do a wide turn and come in straight instead of taking 10 turns to land like why do i gotta make 30 turns to land if it could've been done with 1 long final?

Right so this might be connected to connection or not but at a few airports i swear im playing slideshow simulator and have to hope and pray my plane doesnt slam into the ground or something or that i dont get penalized for going off the runway or missing my turn off

Career mode is good but so much work needs to be done tbh

I had a new "tornado" mission, this time in a caravan, I have done it and once again the game crash, once again I get a nice amount of cash and once again my reputation goes from A to C thanks to the crash, so I would higly recommend anyone to stay away from these mission untill they fix them.

With the money I set up my first company, and bought a used C172 for 20K. You have various option including the one to sell back your C172 for 170K ! I did not do it and would recommand not to do it as it seems the 20K deal is for your very first aircraft, price for used C172 are more in the range of 200K.

I have done my first mission it was advertised for 5K but I get 75K in the end, so it is definitly a very good way to make money and pass your various certification.

I like this career mode so far even if there are plenty of stuff to enhance.

I know what they're trying to do there, as best practices are often considered to be to cross over the runway and then teardrop into the downwind leg. But it's executed poorly - in some cases they've had me cross over the runway, then cross back over the runway to teardrop into downwind instead of just joining downwind in the first place. In other cases, they've loaded me with so little fuel that even with proper fuel management and max endurance settings, I'm running on fumes by the time I get to the destination airport and am unwilling to risk the engine quitting if I fly the full pattern. They need to let us choose our fuel without using a cheat button.

Yes, it has bugs that need to be addressed. Some improvements needed for sure…but the design has been fun to work so far to high 40’s level.

Potential.  If Companies can become a group enterprise, you get a few friends and form a company, and then you can do Group Missions, example, 5 planes dispatched to fight an enormous forest fire with the goal of protecting a town from burning…it would be great fun.

100% agree, its the biggest turn off, I gave up on the first fixed wing lesson and found another game to waste my time on

The career mode is something I will never even consider using. I am happy with the free flight mode which seems to be working well. Low and slow with the occasional mid level high performance twin. As for the commercial jets, why sit in front of a computer to watch another computer fly the aircraft.

Just my personal view of course. I get a constant 60fps with the Graphics card running at 45% so I am very happy with MSFS2024

Do you even NEED to do the 'lessons'? I watched a guy on Twitch last night who started career and skipped straight to thy license 'exams'. On the ppl he porpoised the approach, bounced the plane, flipped over in a cartwheel and crashed. Plane then reset in the air on final, he landed again, bounced but no crash this time. 

He passed the exam with an A!! Game said congratulations we can see you're already on the way to being an exceptional pilot.. 

4 hours later he passed his jet pilot atp. Really nice laid back guy but it was the first time ever I laughed out loud watching a flight sim (non hilarious glitch related). 

Btw on the final go around exam he left flaps down and did 320 kts on turn to MA hold leading to flaps over speed message. 

Still got a B. 

I am Luke warm on it. I think if they find a way to incorporate payware aircraft into it, I may go back to it. 

I think it has a lot of potential.  Clearly the bugs and crashes need to be worked out.  Remember, this is designed for the casual simmer.  Most of us will move on to more robust add-ons, but it is a nice addition.  

I would be interested in career mode, but after reading this thread it looks like a hard pass. Does anything work 100% in MSFS2024? I know the answer.
