So I tried 737 MAX in MSFS 2024

Guess someone finally looked at a picture of a real airplane lol.

Or you know, it was just a WIP and they just didn't have the right font yet.

I did KEWR to KMIA and it flew fine, only issue was the number displays being tied to a brightness knob which I've read online is not accurate to the real thing.

I just wish it had a full simbrief import (flightplan and payload) but according to WorkingTitle they're leaving that up to third parties to do.

I've never flown a payware 737 in a sim before, so I don't know how it compares.

  • 100% just did a 9.5 hour flight in the A330-300.  Rock solid no issues very impressed.

  • No problem with generators, but they were barely lit so it was hard to tell if the available or not. One thing I don't like about Asobo MAX is sounds. iflyMax got it just right. I hope they will fix i

  • I am finding the standard of these default aircraft is amazing compared to 2020, and other sims. So far the A330, AM 400, Chinook and Max are way up there. Yes there's some bugs, but again, given time

I think this is my problem because I uninstall MSFS 2020 to save space

Yea, He is making a new install program that should be out in a couple of days that will install correctly into MSFS 2024.

I wasn't talking about the font (that's still way off).  I was talking about the displays actually being in the wrong places in the cockpit - as in, out of order - while holding the plane up as an example of the "highest fidelity ever".  I mean c'mon, that's funny!

Planning a flight in FS24 is not so easy and the new Simbrief option is not helping to clear things, but the B737max is promising and it has a very good feeling. The ILS autoland is not working well, so disabling the AP at 1000ft is a very good option, the flight model is not bad at all. In the walkaround I forgot the Pitot covers and I had a very bad experience, similar to one of the infamous accidents featured by the 737max: crazy "dolphining" up and down, solved disabling the stab trim and the AP. It's not perfect, but it is promising.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

Actually displays were OK. I adjusted lighting inside cockpit to my liking . I should have mention that screenshot come up like this because HDR is turned on . It doesn't like like that when I look at it

Flew the Asobo B737 Max again today & the dashboard display screens were good, not bleached out.

Flew KATL to KSTL with an autoland.

AP all the way & the aircraft did not deviate from LNAV. Getting to like this aircraft.

So how does it compare with Ifly?

MSFS2024 running on Win 11, 4K screen, Z790 AORUS ELITE AX-W, i9-14900K, MSI 3080Ti, Corsair 2x32GB 6000 MHz, 1+2TB M.2 NVMEs

I'm kind of surprised that most here seem to be satisfied with this plane in its current state, because over on the official forums the viewpoint seems to be that it is, at best, missing many important features: VNAV and LNAV not working, TFC not working, GPWS not working, trim issues, EFB performance calculator not working, etc. I haven't had time to give it a try yet, but has no one here experienced the same issues?

I tried to map my Turtle Beach throttle quadrant to the throttles with no success. Only throttle one worked. Did you manage?

LNAV and VNAV worked for me, TFC isn't working for any aircraft in the sim right now and I don't think the EFB performance calculator isn't set up for any aircraft yet. I just used the Simbrief one.

Is the transponder working for anyone?

It just took me about 17 tries to get AP to stick on departure out PSP just now.  This thread inspired me to take the Max for a hop! 😇. Anyway, it took multiple engagements of AP to finally get it to “catch and stick”. Never really changed anything.  Checked a bunch and just flew the airplane.  Then after multiple attempts it stuck. Anyone else see similar behavior?

EDIT:  A subsequent repeat flight proved this to most likely be pilot error, not aircraft error.  At least pilot induced!😎

Summary: A330 Driver (ex real B737 pilot) called it utterly dismal. Very little good to say about it in terms of…. everything.

Even suggests that Boeing can’t be happy with such a bad representation of their product in the sim.🤣
