I expected the server issues.  I never even tried the sim until things quieted down.

I expected addons to not work.

What I did not expect was that the sim would force load every marketplace addon with no way to turn them off.  Some of us use the marketplace a lot, and I know I have tons of stuff that might not be compatible.  I just want a vanilla sim, and that's not possible.

I'd rather they just turn off everything by default.

See you in 2025 MSFS 2024!

I think by spring most of the major bugs should be fixed.

In the meantime , MSFS2020- Map Enhancement is as good as it gets. Those mountains in Canada  🙂

There is no chance that they did not know about these issues. That is the reason why the marketplace was not fully available from the start.

I think that developers will think twice selling over the marketplace now. Being forced to adapt for free because Asobo wanted to cash inn on a new sim instead of making (meaningful) updates and promised compatibility for marketplace products without providing a framework for developers prior to release - that might raise some eyebrows. And maybe doing it all in 2028 again? And we're not even talking adding 2024 functionality - standard Asobo planes are not working as intended...

I think future MSFS projects will be evaluated differently, especially with long development times.

We have recently ported much of the marketplace content from Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS 2020) to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS 2024). Recent reports from the community show that some 3rd party add-ons are causing significant issues, including preventing some users from entering the simulator. Until we identify which content is causing these issues, we will temporarily deactivate all MSFS 2020 non-aircraft content from MSFS 2024.

As part of the patch planned for the week of Dec 9th, we will add the ability for users to disable/enable content on their own. We will also add a safe boot option to deactivate 3rd party content in case of a crash when booting up the simulator.

Exactly - how can that be a surprise for Asobo? They knew what products are on the marketplace... they own it. So - they never did that before? Is there something I'm missing here?

They assumed that all their 2020 Market place sceneries would port over well into 2024, that was not the case. But give them time to figure things out. Why add more bugs, give them time to figure things out.

Not if you have used MSFS2024 it isn't.  I ALWAYS used the map Enhancement tool for the extra map resolution in 2020, despite its own issues.  2024 has now introduced a higher resolution mesh which transforms the ground.  2024 satellite imagery may not be as high resolution, but the extra terrain resolution brings the ground to life - every bump, crevice, crack, rock is there. so many extra shadows also bring the ground to life.

I'm not knocking 2020 as a sim, after all I used and loved it for four years.  However, when I watch a 2020 video the ground looks so flat now!  I have seen mountains myself in 2024, and in screen shots and they do have far more detail than 2020.  2024 is a wonderful advancement over 2020 - and no amount of early adopter impatience changes that.

We are happy to report that the issues regarding access and streaming have been resolved.

The hard reality of the situation is that contracts are signed and penalties start to accrue at the agreed upon date and at the agreed upon levels as specified in the contract/contracts.

I believe many are forgetful of the release state of FS2020.

Yesterday morning I fired up the FENX, took off on my APL schedule from KPHX-KLAX, KLAX-KPHX, KPHX-KSMF, KSMF-KPHX, KPHX-KLAS, KLAS-KPHX.

Went to bed and got up this morning and went KPHX-KABQ. Now flying KABQ-KPHX all in the same free flight and using BATC with FSTL and all my peripherals.

Great FPS, not memory leaks, how long did it take to get here in FS2020.

Because today their A321 A330 are a disaster on my PC impossible to make a flight...

In what way? I haven’t tried the A330 yet, but I have done several flights in the A321 and A320 and had no problems at all. The only real issue I have had is that I cannot remove the chocks and engine covers using the EFB menu.

With Inibuilds planes I lose a lot of performance, I'm at 18 to 20 fps... It takes time to load everything, blur textures... With the Fenix 30 fps smooth So I tell myself that it must also come from the broadcast and that if I had their 321 installed locally it would go much better...

Well i cant get into the game today 😡

See you all in 2028 and the history repeat:D. People will complain about MSFS 2028 and praise how good old 2024 is and refuse to move on, while the rest just moves on and experience what the latest technology have to offer and have a grin on their face, laughing at those poor souls stuck in the past:p
