BATC Traffic coming to all users imminently

Featured Replies

I like what I see so far and have been using the traffic on every flight now.  I do think the traffic separation stills needs some work though.

Last night I was on short final (roughly 2nm?) and ATC cleared a Dash 8 for takeoff right in front of me, then told me to go around.  It’s good that the conflict was recognized and addressed, but bad that ATC created the conflict when it should have just told the Dash 8 to hold short.

I’ve had a few close call encounters where ATC didn’t keep me separated from other traffic and didn’t say anything.  I had one startle me last night…I was calmly cruising at FL330 when an aircraft travelling roughly perpendicular to me went whizzing past my cockpit windows.

  • I love the progress. Keep in mind it's only half a year old. They've come a long way since the beginning

  • I can vouch for the BATC traffic, it's nice. It can use FSLTL, AIG and FSTraffic models if you have any of them installed.

Yes, it all has pros and cons. At the same time - if you're at an airport scenery that does not reflect real life (try KORD and report back) you will see aircraft taxi in the grass where taxiways have

Aren't close encounters with AI planes part of the fun?

Well this one did give me a bit of a startled laugh, I sure didn’t expect to see crossing traffic at about 10 feet 😂

It does indeed. I do get a few close encounters every week.

I have been using it for the past few days exclusively in 2024, and like it. I have had a few issues that are likely more down to the sim at the moment which have occurred when i move the the open window when in use, and the other is i don't see many aircraft take off or land much in busy hubs, despite increasing the amount. Overall great potential, and looking forward to further updates.

Just wondered if the app "AIFlow" is compatible with BATC?

No.

No I don't think so.

Thanks @Fiorentoni that's a shame...

This is what my current client machine looks like and I love having the ATC on a separate machine and hence also being able to leverage a separate mic and speaker to my sims 5.1 system and external soundcard for my buttkickers...

On a side note, does anyone know how to paste the URL from google photos to get it to show up?  LOL

In Google photo's click on the photo (in my case the photo becomes bigger and is on a black background). Right-click on that image and choose (something like) 'Copy image link'. Go back here and click on 'Insert image from URL' paste the url and then click on 'Insert into post'.

Man, there is some sort of major malfunction between the chair and the keyboard on my end LOL  As my crew likes to say the only loose nut in the car is between the seat and the steering wheel LOL
I keep trying exactly that directly from my google link and getting a red box in the URL box but I can copy the link from the one you posted back to me and it works fine...

Clearly self inflicted damage over here 😉

You will be getting the red box when you copy the link url: click on the picture first and then copy the image link url. I could post screenshots here but my browser is Dutch so I doubt if that would help. 😉

EDIT

1. Go to the site with the picture (the link you posted). Do not right click on this screenshot.

2. Click on the screenshot and you will see this.

3. Right click on that picture and choose (the equivalent of) 'Copy image link'.

4. Go back to your post and click on Insert image from URL at the bottom right of the post editing window.

5. Paste the link in the popup and hit 'Insert to post'. Done.

Ah!!!  I had to click on the link to the image myself and copy that, not just copy the url it created!!!  I understood, thank you!!!  You taught me something new 🙂  Now you can see my client machine on the left...

Thank you again, I really appreciate it!

I'm really pleased and impressed with this latest update of BATC.  I'm using it in VR and it integrates very well.  The real-life traffic injection is the icing on the cake for what was already a super addition to realism and immersion.  Full marks to the devs 🙂

Is it possible to get the BATC generated traffic show on Navigraph maps and/or enroute map? Or in fact anywhere else, any kind of map?
