BATC Traffic coming to all users imminently

To start your flight preparation, you’ll need to create a flight plan using Simbrief.

Is that required?

Yes. That's how it gets all your flight information. It doesn't read anything from the sim.

  • I love the progress. Keep in mind it's only half a year old. They've come a long way since the beginning

  • I can vouch for the BATC traffic, it's nice. It can use FSLTL, AIG and FSTraffic models if you have any of them installed.

Yes, it all has pros and cons. At the same time - if you're at an airport scenery that does not reflect real life (try KORD and report back) you will see aircraft taxi in the grass where taxiways have

Oh man MSFS 2020 is so good now.

Planes push back mostly correctly no more push back then 180. Take-offs are immediate accurate looking. Landing aircraft clear the runway quickly.  No weird stuff when taxiing.  No airplanes zooming around at low level or pulling of weird maneuvers.

En route traffic looked plentiful,  better phraseology.  Beyond ATC combined with Volanta and these awesome Fenix airbuses are giving me a whole new reason to fly.

Only problem I have is Volanta is not tracking altitude vs. time correctly. And no it's not a barometric thing, it's a timing thing.  It would say 37,000 feet even though I had already begun descent a long time ago.  The colors match but the statistics vs. time don't.

The FR24 database is basically every IFR flight in the world from that week earlier this year. So I'd say that's at least as extensive as AIG, even more maybe.

And yes you need to file a plan using Simbrief.

If someone has the Total numbers, I can cross check with AIG. Sine AIG has airlines included that sometimes are not covert by FR24 we might have some more.

Is there anywhere a comprehensive explanation of those traffic setting sliders? I used the default setting with everything at "5" and it generated way too much traffic on e.g. LSZH. And of course, it crippled my performance like this.

I have no idea, but I think it's safe to say both AIG and BATC have more than enough for every taste 😉

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Take a look here. How the traffic sliders work? - BeyondATC Help Center

I just purchased BATC.
I love the clean interface as well as the cool SimBrief and FSLTL integration.
Voices and regional accents are also very realistic.
Very smart and handy tool 🙂.

I'm happy you picked this ATC addon. I think that every simmer that enjoys flying IFR needs to add this ATC add-on. It has made MSFS 2020 so much more enjoyable when conducting IFR flights. Before BATC, I was using ATC Chatter with default ATC disabled. Now, my IFR flights put a grin on my face when I hear the different voices that, to my ear, sound real. I've heard almost everything I would hear IRL. This is with the basic (free) voices. I have not even tried the premium. I'm just soaking it all in and so grateful that the dev and all its supporters help the add-on mature. I think it's only going to get better from here. Thanks to everyone who made i all possible.

Just purchased the program as well, love it, looking forward to VFR portion when done.

What kind of mic do you guys use? As I have my sim rig in a separate room I do not use and do not want to use headphones, now I am wondering about a suitable mic for BATC...

After using FSHUD 2.0 for a couple of months, I decided to try BATC instead of buying the FSHUD 2.0 upgrade for FS2024. While I've only used BATC in FS2020 so far, I must say I am really impressed with how slick it is and the fact that it "just works" with minimal configuration. I tried a few flights this afternoon and it was superb.

Thanks all for the recommendation.

I have never used a MIc, I just use auto respond. Works really well and I don't have to wear a headset.

While I don't use headphones myself, either, it is not really realistic. No one in real life flies without them. For hearing protection alone.

I use a simple table microphone by Trust Gaming.

I use the Mic built into my webcam. Works great. Or else I click the auto respond option if I don't feel like talking.

I'm using BATC with FSLTL. Problem is with the significant GA parked in airline gates. Lol. Also, even with FS2024 set to 0  I'm getting double parking with default aircraft.
