Microsobo tells us it's time to move to MSFS2024

No thanks! We have the right to stay in 2020 or not.

  • Same here. Used to be seconds before 2024 was released.

  • I recall that this was a complaint in the early days of MSFS20 that Asobo addressed in one of their updates which did, in fact, cure it.  It would seem to be back; a punishment to the '2024' heretics.

  • They've got top men on it. Top. Men.

Same, stuck on checking for update screen

This is one way to get people to use 2024, I guess. I'll buy Trainsim world first.

I have had this happen before and a repair in the x box app has always fixed the checking for updates stall for me.

Same my end as Bobsk8 said, time to play with trains😆

  • Time to get to the CHECKING FOR UPDATES screen - 40s
  • Time to get past CHECKING FOR UPDATES - 5m35s
  • Standard MSFS screen appears (the one with the Airbus A320/F18 Hornet/Giraffes etc)

I cancelled the loading process at that point, because that is not normal.

  • Time to get to MSHQ with a blazing pitchfork if this does anything to my MSFS installation? Less than a second.

Thank you for your patience as we have been investigating the ‘Checking for Updates’ issue occurring for some users. We have now identified the root cause and are working towards a long-term solution to prevent this from happening in the future. We believe the issue is now mitigated for almost all cases. Thank you again for the reports as we work to fully resolve the issue.

I tried just now and no luck.  Server side issue for sure.

So I resorted to FS2024 since I cant get FS2020 to start.

I shouldn't have bothered. For some unknown reason I'm getting 10FPS. Its a stutter-fest.

There is a big thread on the Official MSFS forum about this isssue. I tried posting the link, but Avsim won't let me. Some users even reinstalled 2020 because of this.....🤔
