  • Same here. Used to be seconds before 2024 was released.

  • I recall that this was a complaint in the early days of MSFS20 that Asobo addressed in one of their updates which did, in fact, cure it.  It would seem to be back; a punishment to the '2024' heretics.

  • They've got top men on it. Top. Men.

My sim still loads, but the time the sim spends checking for updates has not changed.

2 minutes checking for updates and 2 minutes to load all my chosen add-ons.

Total 4 minutes to load to main menu.

Tried the time sync "trick" to see if that would help. No joy. Still checking for updates.

(Had to have a wry smile as I noticed the Checking For Updates screen is using 80% of my GPU)

It just took 10 minutes 30 seconds to get past checking for updates, it warmed up the CPU while doing it.

Then I got a 'Disconnection' message and a CTD.

Time to clean the fish tank.

Can't get past checking for updates at all.

Yup. Me too. Stuck on loading screen. Tried like 5 times. Restart. Run as admin. Resync time (which is stupid). Delete OneStore Folders. Remove community. Uninstall navigraph.

Nothing. I swear I hate this hobby as much as I love it because Asobo.

Just let the sim sit there in the loading screen. It will eventually load. Took about 20 minutes.

The problem is Asobo seems not to care about this issue. They know it is a problem but they won't fix it. Why not get rid of the "checking for updates" feature?

Seems to me that their server determines whether your performance will be good or bad. It also determines when you can access the game.

I really don't think this is a good business model.

Hard to argue with the notion that Asobo is a disaster.

I can only imagine what's in store for 2024.

Same for me, can't get it to complete the checking for updates

It checks for updates for 20 minutes and then it crashes.

Might be a more general issue... even the forum (here at avsim) is getting horribly slow for me right now...

The server batteries must need replacing.

Totally agree.

I can't get 2024 to load past the spinning circle either. This reliance on streaming sucks.
