Why can't other Developers match Fenix's GSX integration?

Featured Replies

If anything Fenix can also improve Fenix GSX integration. I don't really see much more both companies can do. Fenix allows you to get push back tug via the beacon but really you don't turn the beacon on till you have start clearance but if you are flying on Vatsim for instance controllers don't want you spending for ever waiting for it to attach they could do it the FSLabs via the ACP. I like the way FSLabs do the stand allocation via the airline packs but even then I have not seen an option to sync with Vatsim gate assignment. E.G Flying into Manchester with BA it gave me the airline stand but didn't give me the stand that Vatsim had assigned so manually switched it.

Because Fenix are the best in this hobby without a doubt.

Why can others just make it work as well as Fenix?

JustFlight, Leonardo and FlyByWire do.

i guess it just depends on customer demand vs dev time.

It took me a week or two to implement on the FBW and when we announced it there wasn’t a huge amount of reception to my surprise. I get a few support questions here and there but not nearly as much as I expected.

I think a lot of people don’t use GSX fully but mostly as a pushback tool. Or even more so, there’s a lot less GSX owners than we assume.

Its not done from the tablet. Its all done through the MCDU and click spots. Personally would like it all in the EFB like P3D days.

edit already stated before you can do it  thru efb.

Good info, I don’t fly FBW that much and tend to default to Fenix. I need to give the 320N another try, it’s fantastic!

Hmmm in the PMDG 777  I request boarding and GSX works the doors, inputs the simbrief ZFW, passenger numbers, payload numbers etc etc.  If I need catering or another service I simply pull up the GSX menu but I don't have to manually load/input anything.  GSX takes care of it all.

Not sure what everyone is complaining so much about.

When GSX is turned off my Fenix works just fine. 🙂

(kidding calm down. I love GSX)

Fenix by far are the best developer of airliners in MSFS2020 and 2024 they are King and don't take months. PMDG can learn from them

I would not go that far but I feel they have been a little disrespected by some lately though. Don't ask me why.

I guess I am doing it wrong then, I will have to run a test.  I usually get GSX to load pax and fuel but I have to go into the FMC to say load pax/fuel.  Still not fully automatic though with one button.

I'm not sure the PMDG obsession with using their own ground handling vehicles - the animations are dated and don't work very well, and the equipment takes even longer than GSX. It would be nice if they'd at least offer a toggle option to disable them, in addition to some sort of better GSX integration. I'd like to see that tablet page look more like the Maddog or Fenix integration.

PMDG doesn't spend time on GSX integration because it's not something their Xbox customers can use. Mathjis has stated as much.

Eh... okay I can see the logic but I disagree. I guess if it stops us from embarking upon another 24 month mystical tablet-like adventure while they figure out GSX, that's a small blessing. I can live with it.

I'm certain they all could...if they tried/wanted to.  So the questions becomes:  what can we do to stimulate the other devs to do the same?

Simple, just buy the Fenix

I think even prior to that they said they don't want to try to rely on, and push everyone to purchase, another 3rd party program. They'd rather try to accommodate those things in their base aircraft, as clunky as it may be. I don't really use PMDG's refill/passenger loading system at all so it could be that I just need to get used to it. That being said, just to reinforce what Lucky said, I mainly use gsx for pushback. I don't usually have the time to deal with all the aspects of loading fuel/bags/passengers/catering/etc.
