COWS DA40-XLS Incoming

I have switched nosewheel steering on until I get some rudder pedals with brakes.

Does it have a tablet to change this setting? I don't think the DA42 does, or maybe I just can't remember. I definitely never imported a simbrief plan in the DA42, wouldn't even know how to do that.

You allocate a key binding in MSFS control settings to 'Toggle Landing Gear'.  Message on the PFD shows if you have nosewheel steering/brake steering/brake off.

The real DA42 only has nosewheel steering, so no free castoring.

I love the DA-42, but I do find it a shame that visibility is so obscured by the engines. Flying the DA-40 is a lot better, as I remember in P3D, so it will be a worthy purchase for me.

DA-40 XLS V1.0.2 Changelog

Fixed "Parking brake set" inputs

Improved mixture start behaviour

Fixed dead zone on fuel indications

Increased P factor

Improved AFCS warning behaviours

I'm enjoying this.

Land just above stalling speed and it greases on but if you're fast and hard it throws you skyward like an old Cessna with spring gear.

It feels alive.

Shame there is no pilot, Ant managed to put one into his latest Winjeel so I feel we're missing out. It's a good buy though.

Apparently that's fixed in 2024 SU1.  People who have the beta say it is fixed, but it should be for the rest of us when that comes out.

2024 here. It's a really addictive little plane, handles superbly, looks terrific, sounds terrific. Just ticks all the boxes. I must have put a dozen hours in it already.

Yes, the pilot shows in 2024 SU1.

I'm on 2024 SU1 and agree with them it is the best GA I have had, well and truly A2A territory.
