January 13, 20251 yr Tempting. I fly the DA42 a lot, currently my favorite GA. I think I’ll stick with that. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
January 13, 20251 yr Author I've been flying the 42 for hours today. I've no doubt this will be of the same quality which makes it a must have. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
January 13, 20251 yr If they have been able to accurately model the behavior of a free castoring nosewheel I'm all in. Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
January 13, 20251 yr I don't quite get the benefit of this over the excellent DA42, which I have and have also been using a great deal in 2024. It is tempting but I am not sure I would get a lot of use out of a single, fixed wheel aircraft. What I really wish they would do is a high-fidelity 62! January 13, 20251 yr This is great news - this basically might mean that release is not far away. I do own their DA42 and I do fly it quite often either doing low level VFR or perhaps practising a complex instrument approach procedure. There is history for me with DA40 - It was actually one of the aircraft I flew IRL after getting my licence and to this day I would quite happily swap PA28 to full glass cockpit. Looking forward to see what Cows will bring with their DA40.

Well, the DA40 has a landing distance of 1,043 feet and the DA42 1,269 feet, so pretty much the very same airfields. I am sure we could fly around and find some fields that are 200 feet in between but I don't think there will be too many, and I can say with certainty none that I am flying to. I really don't see the benefit unless you want to practice train on a modern single. MSFS 2024. January 14, 20251 yr When we see the absolutely horrific implementation of the Default DA-40 (orders of magnitude worse than the MS2020 version), this addon, the newest, latest version of the type, does make a bit of sense to purchase. It is a real shame that a third-party aircraft would have to be considered to replace a default plane, but the regression in the DA-40 from MS2020 is just barbaric. I am exclusively flying the DA40 from 2020 in 2024 with some personal tweaks because it is just so unflyable. If a wonderful third-party affordable, systems rich replacement for the default DA40 is made available, I will gladly consider it. Having a wonderful plane that sits between the 172 and the Corvalis/SR22 is nothing to scoff at. flightsim.to - map
January 14, 20251 yr Looks like it's out. Not sure though I'll be getting in.
