If a wonderful third-party affordable, systems rich replacement for the default DA40 is made available, I will gladly consider it. Having a wonderful plane that sits between the 172 and the Corvalis/SR22 is nothing to scoff at.

There’s the DA40 and 62 improvements mods: https://flightsim.to/profile/mrtommymxr

Might be worth a try.

Looks like it's out. Not sure though I'll be getting in. I need a work horse that can fly in known icing 🙂

Where is it out?  Not available yet at Orbx.

The page is there but the aircraft isn't.

I was gonna pass on this as the default ones aren't too bad, but at that price, looks like I'm gonna be getting myself some more Cows!

Hopefully in the next few days. I see there is a small update to the DA-42 today. I love that about this developer, they provide great long term support.

Do you know what’s changed? I’m not going to be able to sim until the weekend.

Unfortunately the change logs are removed when you download and install the update on ORBX and I can't find anything on Discord. There was a bigger update last week I think, this one was pretty minor.

edit - today was just  - 'Fixed aileron sensitivity at high speeds'.

This looks interesting!
Never operated the IO360 powered DA40 so I might get this one, there are plenty of differences regarding performance according to the spec sheets.
I see the stall speed in landing cfg is 6 knots faster in the DA40NG (58 vs 52 knots). Always something.

I’d be curious to hear from anyone that buys this and also owns the payware version of the DA-50 in terms of simulation quality.  Of course in real life the DA-50 version s bigger and faster.  I might have room for one payware Diamond single in my hangar.

Is this out yet? They have not announced anything on their discord yet.

I just had a look on the OrbX Direct site and in the App.

Both have pages for the plane but the website doesn't have a buy button for it and while the app has an Add to Cart button pressing it just produces a Product not found error.

So it isn't available to buy yet, but I would not be surprised if that changes by this time tomorrow.

Still no sign of the Da40 release and unfortunately it appears that the price shown in the OrbX Direct app has gone up ~60% from the pricing originally being shown.

Thought I was seeing things lol! Well, looks like a pass for me anyway, now if the price was as before it would have been a for sure!
