March 2, 20251 yr Greetings! I haven't yet purchased this product but will in the near future. I see on the Inibuilds site in the Recommended FS20 Specs it lists DX12. Will it run OK using DX11? March 2, 20251 yr Joy-riding in a 777 is one of life's great pleasures. Low'n'slow in a 318 even better. 12 hours at altitude in anything is a "rather stick pins in my eyes" scenario for me. That works both ways. If you want to be realistic, those long haul flights, at least when they cross the 8 hour threshhold are done with relieve crew. So no one sits that long in the cockpit in real life either and that is what the crew rests are for. So I don't think it's odd at all to reduce the length of a long haul with time acceleration to achieve a realistic time in the flight deck. And I say that as someone who used to do those long hauls in real time with overnight sleep as well.

If you skip the taxi you only have take off and landing left, the rest is monitoring the autopilot. At least taxiing gives you something to do.

But, although very small piece of the pie, using power for nothing in today's world is my eyes everything but responsible from the green perspective. Exactly. If people can afford to spend that much money on energy, than energy is obviously still too cheap. Sadly some people need to be economically forced to save energy it seems. Maybe incremental pricing on the kWh? As long as you spend normally you pay the normal rate for one. But when you go way above average consumption the price per kWh is doubled, or even trippled to coerce you to stop spending so much energy. Currently it's exactly the other way round. Energy intensive industries get discounts on the prices. Edited March 2, 20251 yr by Farlis

Well, I for one support nuclear for cheap and abundant green energy, because the "green" degrowth perspective is one leading to poverty (if we go that way, "gaming" period is a waste and needs to be considered a crime against Mother Gaia). 5800X3D, 64GB 3200 RAM, 7900 XT 20GB

But more seriously, it feels almost like "flight simulator" is the wrong definition for a lot of what goes on here. Something along the lines of "pilot simulator" feels more appropriate for a lot of those posting in this topic, for example. Things like the level of suspension in the main wheel struts and how the tyres contact the ground could reasonably be considered significant while discussing an A350 simulator, but it feels like a stretch to assume this is important in the generic context of a flight simulator, i.e. a piece of software that enables the representation of moving through the air in an aircraft of some sort. I have pretty much power usage at home, running server, home cinema, electrical car, electrical heating, A/C, so yeah, I do care if I run my computer for "nothing". I agree with caring about it; I generally think it is good to be thoughtful with all expenses. You are also paying nearly twice what I am, so that in itself is quite a big difference. I work from home and on the same computer my flight sim is on so when I do a long flight I usually prep and take off in the morning and then just let it run in the background as I go about my daily tasks, and then land in the evening. So, in the end my computer is on regardless so cost is not something I have thought a great deal about. MSFS 2024. March 2, 20251 yr 350 probably the worst product from inBuilds I own ever. I managed only to fly 1000 variant once. Consequently 2024 either loading flight forever or crashes. 900 variant cannot be load at all. Their latest patch didn't solve on of problems above. Hopefully they fix it soon P.S. March 2, 20251 yr Commercial Member Flying in real time allows you to use real world weather for example and routing / arrival planning are usually done with that in mind. I have always been part of the "real time only" camp - if I wanted to fly for two hours, I'd simply fly a short haul. Sometimes it's nice to simulate actually being tired and still seeing if you can manage the workload. There's a sense of accomplishment. Not to mention I fly for VAs and often they don't allow time compression since the metric used for progression up the ranks is flying hours, not flight hours. March 2, 20251 yr That patch really fixed things quick. Kudos to inbuilds. I have had a lot of great flights with the A350. VTBS-WSSS, WSSS-VHHH, RJTT-ROAH. There are plenty of short flights within Japan, Turkey, the Middle East and Europe. Once I started getting into the jet I really enjoy it. My only problem now are no contrails in the FS2020 version.
