Wireless TrackIR?

Featured Replies

I am sick and tired of the utterly annoying wires of my headphone and Track Clip Pro so (after years and years of being sick and tired) I am (finally) planning to replace my headphone with a wireless Blutooth one. And then of course I also would like to have a wireless solution for my Track Clip Pro.

What's considered to be the best option for this? Preferably one that's easy to purchase: I once read about some wireless option for this which you could only order if you subscribed to some Facebook page and since I don't have (and don't want) Facebook that's not really an option for me.

What option would you advice (if money wasn't a problem)?

I recently got a Tobii - use it for head tracking only and mounted it on a Tripod to keep it away from my screen. Can't fly without it any more.

Ah, haha, yes, well, not the solution I was looking for but yeah, I do suppose that's an option too! I may have to take another look at it. Not sure if it's better than TrackIR and/or if it will work for me... A Track Clip Pro replacement is a lot cheaper though. (I shouldn't have said 'if money wasn't a problem' LOL )

No, I don't want an eye tracker. If I might get the Tobii I'd probably only use the headtracking option (also because I can't mount it underneath my monitor). But eye tracking simply isn't what I want. I want head tracking. But anyway, Tobii is too expensive.

I am currently looking at the Delanclip Fusion: that's the kind of solution I'm looking for. I am just curious if there are any other solutions like that and which is the best one.

I just sold my TrackIR5 pro with a modded wireless tracker I'd made with a little battery inside and charged via and USB to AUX cable.

Perfect as it was connected to my wireless headsets and the modded track clip pro snapped onto the side of the headphones.

The default mount for the Tobii is a magentic strip stuck to the front of the monitor (on the lower frame).

It's a great solution (at a price). I didn't think I'd use eye tracking but it actually works well once you get the sensitivities right.

Why not use regular TrackClip mounted on baseball cap? Personally I prefer it to Track Clip Pro from the start using TrackIR. If your cap is branded with some aviation logo, you'll also have a cool look as a bonus.

This is what I've used for years.  Never had a problem with it.....

I have used the visor that Track IR sells for about, $10 with the regular track clip that track IR comes with for well over a decade, never had a problem.

They took the p out of me when I wore it. You must be better looking.

I recently replaced my Track IR 5 (been using that for years) with the Tobii. Since I have a fairly custom setup (display is way larger than what Tobii recommends), I only use head tracking. It’s great not having to deal with all those wires anymore.

Ive had a wireless head tracking setup from TrackHat  AI head tracking | TrackHat PC head tracking for games and sims | trackir alternative for ages, still using their 3D printed version 1 quite happily.

I went for this wireless solution because I kept standing up and ripping the wires out of my PC inadvertently and destroyed my TRACKIR.  Now I can get up wander to the kitchen for a cuppa and not worry at all!
