Time for PMDG to stop making endless excuses and start getting their stuff in 2024.  But who cares what  people fly anyway?

Just for the record, the T7 flies wonderfully in 2024 as long as you spawn on RWY, engines running.  From that point you it loads and goes just as well as it does in 2020, in my case maybe a smidge or two better but performance is not an issue for me (i714900k, RTX 4070ti, 64GB High Speed RAM, Nvme2 & SSD all drives)

  • So you don't like MSFS 2024 Bob? Go figure... Bob, who hasn't even tried the sim has to reassure himself he's making the right choice. Lol, what a waste of time...

  • And probably bore many more.

  • This thread is completely useless. Just another attempt to foment arguing and discord over which sim is better; like it hasn’t already been debated ad nauseam. Go fly in whatever sim you like and let

I disagree with @Bobsk8 on his opinion of MSFS 2024, however, I will defend his right to post threads like this, provided the material is fair and balanced (and from a quick run through of the video, it looked fair and balanced).  Just stay civil in your comments and focus on the pros and cons of MSFS 2020 vs MSFS 2024.

There is nothing wrong with @Bobsk8 posting this, comparisons are made all the time and if we can't compare things, there is very little to discuss.  This is a discussion forum after all, and comparisons will be made.  Just stay civil though, and it should be okay.

In addition, with respect to the Youtube video that @Bobsk8 posted, I did a quick view through of it, and I don't see anything that is really provocative. The maker of the video is comparing MSFS 2020 to MSFS 2024, but comparing it in a standard routine 172 flight. I will just say that above a few thousand feet, the differences between MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 become harder to distinguish. It's mainly "low and slow" where MSFS 2020 looks very different from MSFS 2024 (so probably under 500 feet), as per my thread here:

It requires tolerance of opposing views, which a small group of users here do not believe in. It is a mindset that if you disagree with someone, just shout them down. This has been happening in America for quite a few years now, so this is not new. We need to find a way to get back to civil discussion. Bob has a right to post whatever he wants here, as long as it is within site guidelines. Coming to every thread you disagree with and shouting it down just makes those who do it look childish. You can give your opinion, of course, but trying to invalidate the entire thread because you don’t agree is not the way a free society is supposed to work. This isn’t a war. You aren’t going to win any medals if you carpet bomb more threads than the other side.

Difference being Bob is just trying to stir the pot like usual.

Hmmm, I get the feeling that with this 'small group of users' you are referring to the ones enjoying MSFS 2024 in its current state? The group who is willing to take a positive view, despite all the flaws plaguing the sim? The small group you yourself have clashed with a number of times as well? Is that correct? Or do you also mean the small group constantly bickering about everything, without even once trying to look at the bright side. I usually do not get the feeling this small group is tolerant of opposing views as well. It goes both ways...

I feel addressed by this remark. Let me tell you I agree with you, we could be more civil to each other over here at Avsim. Of course Bob has every right to post what he wants here. But I look at it this way; when you judge coming to every thread you disagree with and shouting it down as childish, I at the same time judge it as childish to share videos downplaying the quality of MSFS 2024, while not even being a user of the sim. Of course you'll get snarky responses. Then Bob stated; notice the pro 2024 are already on the attack, as usual. Expected, of course. That really triggered me, because the whole tone was not about starting a positive exchange as far as I'm concerned. This post was created to stir the pot. Looking at the likes and upvotes I got on the my comment on page 1, I get the feeling others share my sentiments.

I agree with this, in general. But as I noted in an earlier post, the OP's reference to "attacks" which he "expected", and the title of the thread, to me are needlessly provocative. That's the problem I have with it.

Don't forget only the other month Bob was saying he doesn't need the IFLY Max. Its rubbish etc. Can't stop loving it now.

Trust me Bob is not the only one who likes to stir up things around here. I will leave it at that.

This is where tolerance comes in. If Bob wants to post a video that MIGHT BE USEFUL to people on the fence about buying or switching to 2024, he should be able to do it without people like yourself slamming the thread. If you don't like it, don't bother with this thread. But it seems like you guys just cannot help yourselves. This sim is your religion. That is how it appears.

He can't stir it up if you don't engage. If it bothers you, just ignore it.

I am a user of the sim, and when I shared content negative to 24 many of you shouted me down, so I don't think owning the sim matters. Some people (including yourself) are just offended/triggered by content that is not favorable to 24. Why do you feel that way? Because I can tell you that I am definitely not offended or triggered by people posting positive things about 24. In fact, when I read positive things, it motivates me to try 24 again. I did that yesterday and got all the way through my PPL. I agree we can all tone things down here, and we should, because this place has become incredibly toxic. Is this really what we all want? And yes, I did have a few run ins with the 24 zealots here, but I really don't believe i initiated it. I just had the audacity to question whether 24 was ready for release or not. Hint: it wasn't. Again, we should all be more respectful and tolerant. I absolutely have no problem with people who love 24. I just wonder why I am not seeing that!

I thought I explained that? I couldn't care less if people post negative things about MSFS 2024, what else can you do, looking at the state it is in, lol. I do stand by my sentiment this thread was to stir the pot though, that I find annoying. OP has done nothing else here but proudly proclaiming he is not and will not be a user of MSFS 2024 anytime soon. Not a single time was there any acknowledgment about the positives. And they are there, as you (even you, lol) have stated.

Talking about informing possible future users (which I sincerely doubt was the intention of the post) OP only seems to want to inform them with negative Youtube stuff. How come he doesn't share positive videos? Well, probably because it doesn't suit his agenda, there's no balance. But hey whatever, I'll try not to bite next time 😁

Well just ignoring it is an option. No?
