The guy on YouTube just shared his finding and OPINION.

And I recall people here at avsim DO feel attacked when someone does post something (YouTube or even here) wich COULD be criticism about a MAINSTREAM opinion (how mainstream feels and sees about MSFS2024 for example) .

I think @Bobsk8 knows that and that's why he reflected how ro name this topic.

If you take everything serious, you probably see this as "flame the flames"....

If you are balanced and WORLD OPEN for opinions you probably are able to reflect why people post here at avsim.

And the reason for the latter is NOT important..... for me. Because i am able to decide where to spent my time at.

The topic title is so CLEAR, that everyone who does not like it is able to leave in just a sec ...

BUT interestingly they don't.....they read and take time to post here.....and FEEL THE NEED to express themselves......

Just like we all do here!

We ARE in one boat called flightsim, human, people, expression.....feeling understood.

The guy at YouTube his OPINION counts! His view is real (in his eyes) and I think everyone should take each others view as serious as possible....because ...that's understanding and leads to less frustration!

You do not need to agree! But leave an opinion an opinion. If you are fighting against others opinion....then YOU have are problem your self

Thanks for posting

@Bobsk8 🙂

  • So you don't like MSFS 2024 Bob? Go figure... Bob, who hasn't even tried the sim has to reassure himself he's making the right choice. Lol, what a waste of time...

  • And probably bore many more.

  • This thread is completely useless. Just another attempt to foment arguing and discord over which sim is better; like it hasn’t already been debated ad nauseam. Go fly in whatever sim you like and let

That's OK, the issue really is the use of that opinion by the OP to deliberately stoke fires, and let's be clear, that was the purpose.

The attitude of MSFS 2020 die-hards toward 2024 is even worse than that of the biggest XP fans or the few simmers still clinging to P3D. Jeez…

Personally, I’ve found workarounds for the remaining issues I have, and I haven’t touched 2020 at all this year. The potential is there, and the improvements and add-ons will keep coming.

For you and maybe others this is an issue seems to me.

But that's YOUR issue not the opener posts his issue.

And people have to take responsibility for their OWN issues instead to try to change the others.

For me his post and this topic is fully acceptable....I don't see issues....I see the OP as he IS!

You sound like a MSFS2024 die hard....which Is fully acceptable for me....

But why is that better then being MSFS2020 die hard?

I use both Sims.....btw

But I just see this never ending fighting against opinions and judgements like DIE HARDS....or they don't get it....or whatever people judge....

Never judge.....as soon as your opinions seems to become facts ...(And that's the case when judging your own opinion to be right and the others to be wrong)...you seem not to understand....

And that could be an issue you have....

The small flame only becomes a huge fire because people start FIGHTING against the OP for example....

You NEVER change someone else....if he don't want....

BUT you can HOLD OFF...stay away....and not FLAME. because you flame....not the OP....he just may have tried (and I dont know his intention) to Stroke or fire up....but it needs two people to flame...

But I’m not. I still have 2020 installed and regularly use X-Plane and DCS as well. To me, 2020 and 2024 are very similar, so I don’t see any point in bashing either of them.

Yes, me too. I am trying to switch more to 2024 as well. But i still get to many sudden CTD. 2020 in my end is really rock solid and yes....less performant then 2024. But the stability is important for me and 2024 is not that stable at my end at the moment ..

And of course that maybe addon related....but I just need these addons to create my immersive feeling in VR.

Addons like airports (ONLY 2024 compatibele ones), and now finally the IniBuilds a350 and also the Fenix.

But with Fenix and a350 I have sudden CTD....with my 24gb graphic card ..

VRAM never exceed 70 to 80%

Thanks for clarifying. Seems similar as I see this as well.

I wrote "sound like"....but cool you see this more balanced.

Agreed, works both ways with the self appointed cheerleaders who dare not accept any form of criticism of their beloved baby.

There's not enough middle ground around here lately, it's either an over the top hippy love fest or a funeral 😄

As for the video, has anyone actually watched it?! I haven't and won't, much like the other "discussion" video. I know what's right and what's wrong with this Sim, I also know what right and what's wrong with MS & Asobo, I don't need YouTube to tell me.

Oh, another one running MSFS2024 on a laptop potato an coming to the conclusion that the 4y older predecessor runs better? Nice find. Relevance? Close to none...

I disagree with @Bobsk8 on his opinion of MSFS 2024, however, I will defend his right to post threads like this, provided the material is fair and balanced (and from a quick run through of the video, it looked fair and balanced).  Just stay civil in your comments and focus on the pros and cons of MSFS 2020 vs MSFS 2024.

There is nothing wrong with @Bobsk8 posting this, comparisons are made all the time and if we can't compare things, there is very little to discuss.  This is a discussion forum after all, and comparisons will be made.  Just stay civil though, and it should be okay.

In addition, with respect to the Youtube video that @Bobsk8 posted, I did a quick view through of it, and I don't see anything that is really provocative. The maker of the video is comparing MSFS 2020 to MSFS 2024, but comparing it in a standard routine 172 flight. I will just say that above a few thousand feet, the differences between MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 become harder to distinguish. It's mainly "low and slow" where MSFS 2020 looks very different from MSFS 2024 (so probably under 500 feet), as per my thread here:

Also one of the things the author of that video linked by Bob honestly admits is that flight physics wise FS 2024 is clearly superior.

For a user like me that would be more than a good reason to opt for FS 2024.

At the moment I alternate between FS2024 and XP12. Each has it's strong pluses. FS2020 I only miss for not being able to use some aircraft I purchased for it.

I don't understand these threads. Streaming such a program is just wrong, but it's the solution they managed to find in order to keep the money flowing which, just like nvidia, it's all that matters to them whether you like it or not. They couldn't care less about users and this is the truth.

Some people will still use MSFS2024 and will like it and some others will still buy 5090s although they are a major flop. I find it worthless to try and control whoever does what, it's people we're talking about and people will do people things.

So, all in all, let people use MSFS2024 if they like it and let them buy 5000 series cards if they want to. I know where i want to be and not worrying anymore about what others want is a huge weight off my back.
