That's a great philosophy.. but have you really done and said everything to feel more secure today Bob? Hopefully this will last you at least a day or two until you feel insecure again, and post something else about 2024 to feel really secure in not having ever used it 🤣

  • So you don't like MSFS 2024 Bob? Go figure... Bob, who hasn't even tried the sim has to reassure himself he's making the right choice. Lol, what a waste of time...

  • And probably bore many more.

  • This thread is completely useless. Just another attempt to foment arguing and discord over which sim is better; like it hasn’t already been debated ad nauseam. Go fly in whatever sim you like and let

Yup, threads like this clogging up the forum make me renew my requests for a “my sim vs your sim” sub forum or the ability to hide threads like you can hide people that annoy you.

I know why these types of threads are so popular?

We need separate forums.

Probably just to get a rise out of people and I think they actually have a word for someone posting something for no other reason but to get a rise out of others.   It's not a gnome, oh well it will come back to me 😉

It's not like these threads or the threads I also criticize on the other side are a genuine attempt at open conversation they are literally just to fan the flames when most of us actually want the fire to go out already.

Perhaps we should have a seperate "youtube opinions forum" if we can't have separate 2020 and 2024 forums LOL

As @andy1252 I believe just said in the other thread, it is old already on both sides.

No we don't.  Some people just need some self control.

I'm using both still (mainly due to aircraft and FS2Crew editions not available yet in 2024) and I love 2020 just as much still. The differences are very small.

The only thing I can see is that 2024 still has an issue with slow ground textures and PG (especially in the US) while the 2020 servers are great now.

Notice the pro 2024 are already on the attack, as usual.  Expected, of course. 😉

They are offended that anyone would have the audacity to post anything questioning the superiority of their pet game.

I understand people have very strong opinions but I try to keep desktop simulation in perspective. I like it, but I have many other hobbies. I don't want to seem like a jerk. I just retired after decades of real aircraft maintenance and flying which is very much different than a desktop simulation. To me a real simulation would be the Level D's I used to "fly." Please don't flame me, I'm just posting my opinion and mean no offense.

I won't flame you. I miss your cartoon strip.

I think after SU2 with the amount of updates they have slotted in their roadmap for that SU in particular, to include the VRAM bug, then it will really shine. My plan is to give that a week or so post release to see how it is and then move over if nothing regressed.

Thanks! You’re the only one to mention it. I’ve been thinking of creating some more and now I have the impetus. Much appreciated!

Click-bait titles to try and get enough people to watch and subscribe to a channel so it can be monetized.

Just a question, out of curiosity: does polite disagreement constitute an "attack"? And if "expected", does this mean that the motivation for posting the video might have been to bring on the anticipated "attacks", maybe just for the fun of it?

These type of posts are interesting. I know on other social media platforms, people post fiery things to get more interaction and comments for the algorithm. I pondered why the sim vs sim posts popup so often. I have all of them and just fly. Depending on the aircraft I want to fly, I pick a sim and just fly. I'd rather fly than argue. I did think of the aircraft I fly/flew real world.

Back in my military days, there was this rivalry among certain jets. When I flew the C-141B, we always clashed with C-5B crews. You would run into them at bars around the world and the trash talking would start immediately. They would say the 141 looked like an animal from Jurassic park and we would call the C5 an over glorified crew rest facility because it was always broke. We also had beef with C-17A crews because they literally stole our mission. I would land in Germany and suddenly be told my cargo would be stolen by a C17 and they would take it the rest of way. They couldn't fly far without a tanker, so they would wait till we did the long leg and then steal our cargo so it could get visibility. We had a special beef with those crews. Even in the KC-10A, we had minor beef with KC-135R crews. I say minor because the KC-10 always fascinated peeps and we would have long lines at airshows. The beef never amounted to much, never to the extent I see in sim vs sim posts. At the end of the day, people were glad to be flying what ever bucket of bolts they were assigned to. Even when I first got into the Gulfstream 5, we came from different aircraft and often told stories of the aircraft we flew.

I guess that's why I have the just fly attitude. Even after last call at the bar, you went back to the hotel and rose the next morning proud of what ever you flew. I never recall sitting in those older jets just thinking, flying this jet sucks! I never bragged about my aircraft being better than another, I just fly. I treat the sims the same way. Just fly what you like and be content.
