Has that actually happened to anyone ?

If it’s safe I might join for round 2

That happened to me once in the old sim, not this time. I will happily stay in the beta for SU2, it's been a positive experience. 

Happened to me once in one of the SU's for 2020, I always backed up my community  and official folders ever since. It took about an hour to get "020 back up and running then. 2024 is much smaller and takes about thirty mins. I still back up the files though.

I said above it is not yet possible to achieve 100 percent realism with clouds, because the hardware for that isn't available.

Some are still having issues with 2024, but that fact doesn't mean I am mistaken by using the term superb to describe my impression of it.

I would love to know how I force anybody to do anything by posting here.  If only negative comments about 2024 are allowed on Avsim.I would go elsewhere.

Respecting other people's views would probably include my statement you replied to above '2024 is not 100 percent yet'.

Perhaps you could ask Avsim for a negative only forum?

I did a short Free Flight, and then I also did a 2.5 hour cargo flight in Career Mode but I sped up the sim rate to 4x to make the flight about 30 minutes.  Everything was smooth and from my two short flights, it appears that the textures look a little bit sharper in the distance?

I need to do more flights, but my initial impression is that SU1 is smoother than pre-SU1.

So, SU1 breaks several sceneries, e.g. LSZH from MK Studios. Not a biggie, it just loads grass in patches when moving around on the airport, but still annyoing. Was reported: https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/polygon-with-ground-texture-is-now-transparent/13035 but obviously just ignored. Like many things, sometimes I really, really get upset by the way Asobo handles bug reports in their betas, it still gives the impression that their QC is just non-existend or a bunch of amateurs, sorry to say.

This was my first SU beta but it was really smooth. I reinstalled '24 once back in January and it was so much easier than '20. Doesn't really take long at all, so if you have your Community folder backed up (or linked via Addon Linker) it shouldn't even be a big issue if one day you did have to reinstall.

Thanks. I need to get that Addon linker and set it up, and I think finally bite the bullet and uninstall 2020

Well I find MS2020 Superb at the moment  with my favorite addons still  on it so does anyone have a problem with that?

It worked very well yesterday in the evening (Italy), but this morning I'm getting the endless turning circles for an A330 300 GE flight.

Yes, get Add-On Linker. It's one of the first add-ons I recommend to anybody using MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024.

And MSFS 2024 is so much easier to install now, because it's about 30 GB.

I'm glad you're happy with the state of the product, sadly that feeling is very far from universal.
