I think there is something wrong with your system then. Or you are trying to use settings your system can't handle. Gauges and cockpit fidelity are at least the same as 2020, the world outside is vastly improved. If you are not seeing this then you should really find out why.

I think you are wrong

  • So, I've discovered that IF I replace the "streamed" default KLAX and KMCO with a 3rd party addon (iniBuilds and Taxi2gate in this case), it has no problems loading the scenery. After doing some more

This'll start another 25 page sniperfest. But I agree with you. As pretty as it is there always seems to be a little niggle in 24. Nothing major but 'something. 2020 doesn't appear to be so afflicted.

So why do you think you have blurry gauges in 2024 when no one else does?

Gauges and labeling not blurred, in fact the whole interior crisper...less fuzzy compared to 2024.

I also find outside visuals when not low very  level to be largely inferior in 2024 compare to 2020 with the map enhancement mod.

Thoough at 100' -1000' 2024 is much improved, which sort of keeps me trying to get over the negatives as I do spend most of the time low and slow, just that blurry panel is big turn off.

Sounds like your using DLSS to me, check to make sure you haven't turned that on by accident or MSFS24 has, as this program is known to switch graphical settings for no reason whatsoever!

Yeah I find almost everytime I do an NVidia driver update or sometimes even just open the NVidia app it changes the graphics settings in FS2024 and turns DLSS and Frame Gen back on.

Have tried DLSS in various modes but I can never get to grips with the smeared/blurred displays making the text unreadable. Frame Gen also causes an annoying jitter after a while as well so I can't use that. Luckily my GPU can handle TAA in most circumstances fairly well, heavy airports like Heathrow with a lot of traffic being the only exception.

If you have asked NVidia to 'optimise' MSFS, you need to turn it off.

Nah, TAA.

Ive read a fair amount and tried various settings, my system  (7950x3d, 4070ti) should handle the mostly high settings at the meager native resolution of 1080p that my 120HZ gaming monitor runs at and indeed it seems smooth, the clarity though is poor.

Ah ok, maybe try a fresh install and clear cache etc etc.

Are you speaking of default aircraft?

Or are your gauges blurry with add-on aircraft as well?

Took your advice and tried that as it doesnt take long with 2024.

left all the settings at default (as I did the first time I installed)

Result?...Awfull, the panel and gauge are a blurry mess. I know I can improve it with some adjustments as I did on first install but it still didnt get as sharp and clear as 2020.

Its a problem on both default aircraft  and the Wilga and milviz PC6 that I copied over.

Cache size? Sounds like it's not downloading all the required textures from the servers to me, have you left it a few minutes to load?

Perhaps try a VPN to see if that helps.

This morning I also see an extreme slow texture loading in MSFS2024. Terrain almost does not cope with my 125 knots speed of flying. I assume Asobo have AGAIN server issues and performance is down...

It is really a PAIN in my a.. that everytime this is troubling.

Maybe they work behind the scenes for SU2 and split ressources serverbased and therefour less is available???

Yesterday evening all was fine...

@asobo Come on.....please make sure we can use our product completely and then when we want.....without Serverside issues. There a way to much of those isseus around since releasedate....

Community addons are a no no especially if not 2024 certfied and I don't know of any that are.

Eh? I slapped all my (probably 80 ish) 2020 airports into the 2024 community folder and the only one that caused any real issue that I’ve noticed was LOWW where there some ghostly looking artefacts. Thats not saying that they don’t need updating, and many have been, but 2020 airports aren’t a no-no?

There are some 2024 airports coming online so looking for one to buy.  Going to compare to Zinertek textures.

I assume chipset driver is loaded and up-to-date?

If it is, then MarcG has good advice in his earlier post.  It almost sounds like a VPN might help.   But if your LOCALLY stored airplanes are still blurry, that is concerning.  They are not streamed.   That's why I asked about chipset driver.  I'm assuming your video driver isn't ancient, either.  If it's an older driver that could be the reason it looks good in 2020 and not in 2024.

Well, after having a look around at comparison screenshots and screenshots of aircraft I've used its apparent to me that it isnt a problem with my setup or system but simply that many 2024 aircraft cockpit textures are not as clear or high quality as their 2020 equivalents.

I've spent enough time on this now
