March 9, 20251 yr Best to leave MSFS 2024 'clean' when starting out with it. High zettings work best with a few ultras for fun. Community addons are a no no especially if not 2024 certfied and I don't know of any that are. Also free flights are awesome and I get to see improvements all the time. That is what a hobby is about. All I'm saying is don't dump on MSFS 2024. dd Edited March 9, 20251 yr by Sky_Pilot071

I will absolutely wait now till third party planes show up officially (Need Black Square birds in it). I guess there will be longer pause in my MSFS simming. Just don't have time to test this and that like I used to do in the past. I need things working from the start with minimal disruption with tweaking. The two airplanes I fly the most in 2024, are the BSQ A36 and TBM850... so if that is what you are waiting for, you can have it now.. 🙂 Bert

But in the last 30 minutes I've tried to load the default A321LR and the default KMCO and gave up on that after 15 minutes. Now, I am trying to load the same aircraft at KLAX and the same spinning wheel. I've got 64GB of RAM, a high-end system, and dual 1GB AT&T links. So half an hour of my time wasted staring at a spinning wheel? I've tried the East Coast server and now the West Coast server, but same garbage. Meanwhile, my GPU fan is whirring away on the teaser screen as I float over the airport fully loaded but never get down to the aircraft. Mike T. March 10, 20251 yr What happens to me is stuff takes several minutes to fully load. First the cockpit isn't there, then there is a crude outline model, then some of the textures come in, then some crude model shapes with blurry textures then the textures sharpen a bit and then more overlays and sharper textures, and it's like "ok is it actually done loading". It's like trying to load nudie pics on a 9600 baud modem in 1997. "bro, I think I see an altimeter"

Try 2020 aircraft stored on your harddrive.. Bert

After that everything seemed to load in ok. Now I find myself not flying the default airplanes...everything is on my SSD / the planes I'm flying now are stored locally. March 13, 20251 yr Just caved and bought 2024, Only plus I've found so far is that I can actually read the compass on the XCub. I have no Idea how people can say the graphics are improved
