March 9, 20251 yr Look. I'm REALLY trying to like FS 2024. I REALLY am. Yesterday I was able to do some testing in FS 2024 and I saw a lot of promising things. But in the last 30 minutes I've tried to load the default A321LR and the default KMCO and gave up on that after 15 minutes. Now, I am trying to load the same aircraft at KLAX and the same spinning wheel. I've got 64GB of RAM, a high-end system, and dual 1GB AT&T links. So half an hour of my time wasted staring at a spinning wheel? I've tried the East Coast server and now the West Coast server, but same garbage. Meanwhile, my GPU fan is whirring away on the teaser screen as I float over the airport fully loaded but never get down to the aircraft. Mike T.

I have been experiencing this too, where you launch the flight and end up hovering over the airport for a long time, not as long as you but certainly many minutes. This began recently however it did not do this a few weeks ago. MSFS 2024. March 9, 20251 yr This only ever happened to me when I had an incompatible addon in the community folder. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
March 9, 20251 yr I also believe the birds eye view and spinning circle before load is related to an issue with a community addon. That being said I still have most of my 20 scenery addons in 24. If I can't load I return to the main menu and try from somewhere else and it almost always works. It is an annoying bug though and has been reported to Asobo. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 9, 20251 yr This'll start another 25 page sniperfest. But I agree with you. As pretty as it is there always seems to be a little niggle in 24. Nothing major but 'something. 2020 doesn't appear to be so afflicted. Now it may be that I'm used to 2020 niggles and they don't register any more or is it that it's perfect? No? All right. As it's been said many, many times, it early days for 24 and the niggles will become something us old folk will fondly remember while we're smoking our pipes in front of a nice open fire. 😏 The World is divided into two groups. March 9, 20251 yr Try restarting MSFS2024 and first loading the airplane onto the runway at your airport of choice. Don't load try loading to a gate or otherwise. Danny
March 9, 20251 yr Author So, I've discovered that IF I replace the "streamed" default KLAX and KMCO with a 3rd party addon (iniBuilds and Taxi2gate in this case), it has no problems loading the scenery. After doing some more research, it seems that this is a known issue (by Asobo) where FS 2024 is looking for assets for the streamed scenery that don't exist, thus causing an endless loop. So where FS 2020 would not load the missing asset and show an anomaly (such as a missing texture), FS 2024 simply goes into a loop. There you have it.

I saw this also in the fenix at KLGA, it never actually loaded into the flight. Just the aerial view with spinning wheel. March 9, 20251 yr I haven't simmed in a year. These threads are useful for me. I haven't bought MSFS2024. I will absolutely wait now till third party planes show up officially (Need Black Square birds in it). I guess there will be longer pause in my MSFS simming. Just don't have time to test this and that like I used to do in the past. I need things working from the start with minimal disruption with tweaking. March 9, 20251 yr Hi all. I am sure some of my time wasted with 2024 setup could help you. My system I am running 2024 on a 3060(12gb vram) gpu with i9 13900k on a B760 motherboard with 32 GB ram and a 300Mbps Wi-Fi connection. I upgraded from 2020 to 2024 as I mostly fly helicopters and 2024 seemed to natively have support and the visuals are quite phenominal. The helicopters I used in 2020 are picked up as aeroplanes (as the marketplace is not active yet) so I could not setup helicopter specific controls and axis's easily. Lots of crashes and reinstalls and manual inserting things to have the cloud info kick in and overwrite them. Yay NOT Controller profiles importer Please use this free software I found (albeit a little on the complicated side), manages to bring your 2020 controllers over into 2024 https://flightsim.to/file/85361/migrate-fs2020-controller-configs-to-fs2024 Internet connection - needs to be consistent - I had such intermittent data and load crashes that I eventually plugged in a CAT5e cable to the router and it really helped with load times and successful starting of 2024 even though my wifi is faster... PC Time setting on your PC -There is a web article about syncing your system time too before playing... that helped a bit too GLOBAL GRAPHICS setting - I had to set the lowest (Low End) global graphics to get it to start with my 3060. Nvidia PhysX With Nvidia make sure you set your PhysX settings to your GPU and not auto - a friend sent me these links about 50 series cards dropping frames and support for older 32 bit games and programs. Worth a watch Thanks and good luck when you get there 🙂

The solution what is working for a lot of users is the following: - Start the flight selected the gate and zoom out 700 mtr plus and start the flight loading will be almost instant around 30/60sec -Or zoom out complete - It's a bug with Asobo As always ymmv André
March 9, 20251 yr wow @WinstonG you had to go through a lot. Yep, my gaming hardware is even older. Though I have latest pcs for next to my gaming computer lol. Thank you for sharing your insights. Looks like I have to revisit MS2024 at a later time (It appears that MS2024 is a paid alpha/beta stage product). Same thing is happening at Civilization 7 (it is 100% paid beta stage). Grateful to you all for sharing your MS2024 experiences. How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)
