r/Xplane - 12.2.0 Teaser

Developer of Self-Loading Cargo - The Cabin Crew and Passenger Simulation Addon for MSFS, X-Plane, P3D and FSX

Lately I had been using Xp12 with xEnviro and at times ASXP12, but a few days ago I reverted to default weather and even dropped SimHeaven because with Lossless I can now maximize scenery detail, and together with also the default ATC, it has become the simulator that behaves more satisactorily for me only using it's default features.

Yep.

Love it except for the ground textures. I feel trapped in Orbx TrueEarth!

There is only one thing I am looking forward to seeing in the upcoming v12.2.
Only one.
And it is not visible in these photos.

Somehow, I think there is nothing they can add that will satisfy you.

They are only a few steps away with 12.1.4

View in and out in 12.1.4 is fine already, light control now is very impressive. I would like a decent GPS FMS to replace the rubbish they have now.  A KLN90 addon using xml in FSX ran rings around the default stuff in XP.

They don't have to "add" anything.
They have to "fix and repair".
If Laminars fixed the most unrealistic graphical bug in the history of flight simulation in the last 30 years I will be happy with 12.2, just like in the previous 30 years I have always been happy with all those flight simulators in which that unrealistic bug did NOT exist at all.

If that’s the deal breaker, then why are you still using X Plane?  That one thing that needs fixing, is ruining your whole experience, select an alternative.  Personally, if it’s ONLY one thing, I’d consider that a near perfect sim.

Edited by GoranM

Because Xplane pretends to be a flight simulator.
And the top priority of a SERIOUS flight simulator is the visibility of the instruments and the operational ergonomics.
Instead, for 7 years the Laminars seem to have completely lost their compass, focusing only on "Hollywood effects".
Unrealistic glare, unrealistic black shadows, boats in the sea, transparent water with little fish, and now even the "crazy shaky cameras" that transform the maneuverability of the mouse into a shooting gallery at an amusement park, it becomes almost impossible to control the avionics.
At this point in v12.3 let's also add the "sneeze simulation effect" or the "eye tearing" effect".
How real!
All video game nonsense that has nothing to do with the conduct of the plane. 🤦‍♂️

Hi,

Assuming you mean dark cockpits, yes that was one of the main focus areas of the 12.2 update, and it is fixed. The entire lighting system got reworked, and that naturally includes "fix and repair" too.
