FSLTL Update

Not in my case. I reduced them to 512 and it worked correctly without update the .json. Do you move the original files to other folder and renamedthe rescaled ones?

Are you using FS2020 or FS2024 @Maddormo. With FS2020, no .json change is required but with FS2024 it is.

  • FSLTL needs to add that feature. 1024 should be good enough for most of us.

Because I reduce texture sizes, I usually remove the folder from packages and re-install,but there should be a base package update option. From discord: FSLTL Base Models 1.5 available in FB

Yes, that's what I did. Still had to update the layout.json. I'm on MSFS 2024.

How do you update the .json?

I'm thinking about doing some tests. I need to set up a "robust" scenario though to get some useful data. iniBuilds Heathrow in 2024 parked at gate then gathering performance data for a few minutes perhaps? Comparing 4K vs 2K models. I need to think about this.

Yep, I'm using FS2024.

I didn't create mipmaps, could it be the reason? Do you create them?

Went with 1024 size this time, 45gb down to 5gb, nice.

Voilá! Reducing mine to 512 MB 🙂

Then there's that json file massage required for the Layout in FS2024....

What json files will I need to update?

How do the models look at 512?

I'm a little intimidated by reducing the textures, but if I do, I'll probably go for 1024.

I like the idea of less space and better in sim performance.

The FSLTL fleet and injector is the best freeware add-on. It's so easy to install and easy to use.

512 is good enough for me. The whole FSLTL folder is now ONLY 1.8GB 🤣

For me it's more than enough. They don't look bad and I just need a reference for Traffic.

I had used FSLTL with fs 2020 but with fs2024 there were problems. Now it works just great.

I don't usually shy away from complicated stuff, but I did give up relatively quickly when trying to figure out the texture conversion software. I guess I'll just stay on 4K for now. I mostly use AIG anyway.
