What about the current state of say intentions?

Say Intensions is garbage, so buggy, tried many flights, atc dont contact me after departure, atc sometimes dont know where i am, atc keeps decending me 50miles before me TOD, etc, etc. BeyondATC is miles ahead and so much better in my opinion.

  • Ryan is actual air traffic controller. If developers disregard his comments, you can forget about developing something that resembles actual ATC. "Write your own program" is very idiotic response

The AI in P3Dv4 did a solid job of directing aircraft correctly on the ground. It is a shame that MSFS is more last generation than next generation in this respect.

I disagree with this comment as i think both manage traffic well

I own both and both are excellent for what they offer.

The rest is personal choice and I for one am happy to be able to choose.

It is absolutely personal choice, I agree. I too own both and BATC is good but I always seem to get a better experience with FSHud .. perhaps it's the locations we fly from/to?

Out of interest how much traffic do you have set in BATC?

Well i can tell you this much they have a tower at kict and i sure the heck in real life don't see it.  I can have 10 knot tailwinds gusting to 16knts In the sim they send me in with that tailwind up my butt gust to 16knts BS. Wichita, Ks is the air capitol and no love.... Got aircraft plants out the butt out here with the military and CESSNA service center.  Frankly I just think someone is being lazy about it cause KICT is in class C airspace.

Happy Landings

P.S.  We have a whole bunch of aviation at KICT kinda like an oasis of aviaton really.

According to the FAA controllers working with BATC KICT uses runways 01s up to 7 kts of tailwind (gusts are not included in the calculation, because they are gusts). This is intentionally set by BATC therefore

I was at 4 but with my new card I think it's at 6.

I don't like to much traffic. It gets in the way.

What I do wish for is more traffic landing. That seems to be missing on both software.

Lots on the ground or about to take off but very little in the air landing.

That hasn't been my experience, but I use FSLTL with FSHud which injects real world traffic. EIDW (Dublin) is generally very busy during approach and landing.

As I understand it though BATC only uses a snapshot of flight information from a particular date which is why you might not be seeing much traffic. I could be wrong though.

You are both correct and wrong at the same time.

It is true that BeyondATC uses a snapshot. Currently from the last week of July from this year. That means every scheduled flight and each non-scheduled flight that from that week will be in the sim, if you have the appropriate repaints installed, preferably with AIG since they have more of them than FSLTL.

So in that regard you are wrong that there will be less traffic just because it uses a snapshot. Scheduled flights operate on the same schedule each day, only charter flights differ from day to day.

You say that, but I have more traffic in FSHud (which appears to be managed better - issuing go-arounds, vectors etc) than in BATC and it's live data so not fixed to a given point in time.

I think I'll just stick to what gives me the best experience 👍

There is also a thread on this forum , topic FSHUD, why don't you post there instead of the BATC discussion?

Settings BATC to a 10 is basically a 1:1 match up with traffic from the snapshot.

have you tried this?

Bob there are mentions of SI, BATC, FSHud throughout the topic - it's on topic.

Yes but even on smaller values the traffic seems i g n o r a n t (why is this word not allowed?) of the player position and it's not uncommon to get TCAS warnings on approach. I'd expect air traffic control to space the traffic out and make traffic resolutions if necessary. FSHud seems to do that, it certainly feels more like there is a controller in charge.

Maybe it's airport dependent but I stopped using BATC because of it, it felt like I had to monitor the controller rather than them monitoring me.

Because it is. BeyondATC has no seperation at this time. That will come in later stages of development.

Hey my last post about KICT.  I realized i was kinda saying something negative "lazy" I do retract that language. A little ignorance on my part.  Maybe Batc is behind live weather or something cause I have been brought in with some pretty silly winds up the empennage but the midwest gets a lot of gusts.  My bad on the language though.

I wonder how BeyondATC would have turnred out if it had kept wth its original funding / payment model. FWIW, I have both BATC and SI - and Pilot 2 ATC - versions 2 and 3. I have no idea about FSHud.

Well they certainly wouldn‘t have sold 50.000+ units as they did with the current payment model. They did everything right, not in the least by simply listening to the community
