May 30, 20251 yr I think we are getting there with SU3. With SU2 Wednesday with my 3060ti it was just a complete stutter-fest even on spawn. The JF F28 was just spamming GPU Resource errors, and the Fenix wasn't any better. Last night I did a flight from ATL-DCA in the 772 with SU3. No GPU alerts and the approach was fine. I then immediately spawned in the Fenix and was able to pan around smoothly. I did get a GPU error on spawn. I did not attempt a full fight in the Fenix. I think I am still going to be in 2020 for a bit anyway, but I think things are getting better.

Funny, I'm having the reverse experience in SU3, I spawned at RJTT in the Fenix A321 and was sitting at 12-15 FPS until I got to cruise. While in SU2 I was not having that issue. I myself hosted a Blitzortung detector at my home for several years. Those who participate bear the costs of the required hardware and internet connection out of pocket. Access to the network is free, but it not intended for commercial use. For that reason, I doubt that Microsoft or Meteoblue could or would use Blitzortung data in a commercial software application like MSFS. The two leading providers of commercial lightning detection services are Vaisala, who operate the NLDN network that covers the continental US, and EarthNetworks which has worldwide coverage. I have no doubt that MeteoBlue has access to both systems. The problem is that r/t lightning data is extremely expensive. The price MB would pay for access would depend on the number of clients they resell the data to. Whether MB included r/t lightning data in LiveWeather or Asobo contracted directly with Vaisala or EarthNetworks, the cost would be enormous because of the size of the MSFS user base. MeteoBlue would have to recover that cost by greatly increasing whatever fee they currently charge MS/Asobo for LiveWeather. If there was a MSFS weather API that allowed external developers to inject lightning data into the sim, then they could easily leverage Blitzortung data for that purpose, but unfortunately, no such API exists. Yes, I work with VAISALA and ALDIS, so I am well aware of that 🙂 We have our own LSN, integrated in the Euclid network. But there could be alternatives, although I no longer have an active Meteoblue account and don't know if regristered users have access to lightning products (?) May 30, 20251 yr Still getting little stutters on the runway before rotate, and little stutters with audio, but otherwise fairly smooth (and MSFS 2020 runs like butter), PMDG 737-700, gaming laptop, 3080. Anyone else relate?

Anyone else relate? When I get little stutters with audio, I go to Sound settings and make sure the MIC and the speakers are using the exact same source. And that neither is listed as the Windows default. The temporary stutters after an update seem to occur when I don't clear all the shader cache. But eventually they will soon go away on their own. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Again I'm wondering if it's another consequence of better live weather data processing => better depiction of dangerous weather and clouds thickness => more realistic turbulence in clouds Need to go back and check in manual weather if clouds turbulence currently shows up better than live weather. May 31, 20251 yr Can't say I noticed any turbulence in the fenix through clouds, but the clouds are definitely improved. They are more dense and have much better detail than before. The big thing for me is this terrible stuttering when you land. It's not at every airport but any larger airport is a nightmare. I know they are working on the VRAM issues, of which, I hope this stuttering is cured as part of that. The confusing thing is that this was logged as a bug not far into the SU2 beta cycle, yet every new beta list of fixes seem to be issues that aren't show stoppers? Anyway, I'll check I have turbulence set correctly and try it out to see if there is any in cloud. i7 12700K , DDR4 64GB RAM @3600MHz, Asus Z690-Plus D4 MB, Gainward 4090 RTX Graphics, 850W Corsair PSU, Kraken AIO watercooler, Nvme 1TB ssd, 1TB ssd, 500GB ssd.
