YES! They slipped that short line in the patch notes but WOW what a difference I'm seeing in the storms. One step at a time, I am very happy and impressed that they are finally making some updates to

  • I see lightning at KSFB, not over the airport but 5 or so miles away. Edit: Getting lots of turbulence inside the thunderstorm clouds too, this is awesome.

Since I've reverted back to SU2, please someone can try this new beta with BATC and FSTL or AIG models, and check if it is still crashing or not? Not going to join SU3 beta till they solve this crashing/CTD. Thanks.

From the update notes:

We are continuing to investigate stability/crash issues reported by the community on Sim Update 3 beta. Please note these issues have not been resolved in 1.5.4.0 and will be addressed in a future Sim Update 3 flighting update.

Thank you for your patience and feedback!

It busted my Fenix first flight, but I installed and ran without reboot.  Trying again now with reboot.

That's probably a good idea because the whole idea of a beta release is to test the core simulator without any addons getting in the way. Totally boring but it's the only way for this mess called MSFS2024 to become stable for everyone.

Out of curiosity was going to try su3 beta again, worst case i'd revert back. It's fine to remove addons, but witout batc+aig and navigraph i miss something and dont like it.

Can't find it anymore in xbox insider app, problem solved 🤣

There is a new way, not thru insider.  Check the beta forum I suspect it’s detailed there.

“Improved thunderstorm prediction”

I hope this means we’ll actually see thunderstorms where they should be

This is Huge if true, we haven’t had real thunderstorms since SU5 in 2020

Didn't get any update...

Actually all I get now when trying to start MSFS 2024 is 0x80004005 error in xBox account login.

Have restarted, synced the clock, etc... but always get that same error at start...
