NVIDIA App Yes/No?

How did you uninstall it? Windows uninstall doesn't do anything for me, and Task Manager 'End Task' doesn't work either.

I uninstalled it via 'Apps' in Windows settings.

I have seen a comment that it works okay with DX12, I cannot verify this as I use DX11 as I only fly the FBW 320. They recommend only using DX11.

I have no issue with my nvidia app that I use to override the DLSS settings, set my max fps and vsync, update my nvidia drivers, display an overlay with fps, and make screenshots windowed or full scre

I have used it for ages. Never caused me any harm and I kind of like it. It's just an NCP Plus, that's all. Nothing to be afraid of.

I do that, and it asks me to confirm that I want to uninstall, but then nothing happens, it's still there.

Still use GFE Contrast and Details filters for some subtle fine-tuning on top of the fabulous hack mentioned here and could not be happier with image quality in both MSFS sims:

Are you using GFE instead of Nvidia App to enable the Contrast and Details filters? Since the last update, I seem to have lost the ability to apply any filters to either 2020 or 2024.
Rich

you got me thinking, why do I have it installed since I use nvidia control panel. It took forever to update drivers I think so it could show all those ads while doing it. Annoying, I uninstalled it via add/remove programs.

Now I also wonder do I need that NVIDIA PhysX Installed??

Only if you run sim in DX11. Works well in DX12

If it won't run in both then the app is useless.

You should say "the app is useless FOR ME". Most of us use DX12 and also play other games, so nope, the app is not useless. It may  be useless for you.

We just got WiFi6 and then there was 6E, then almost immediately WiFi7 and WiFi8 is already underway so by the time 8 hits most companies will be just deploying 6E...

The only constant in life is change...

As for the Nvidia app, I do like perusing it's suggested settings sometimes and have even been pleasantly surprised when it suggested upping some settings with my GPU.  I don't let the app actually make any changes but I do like previewing them...

Yes Rich using GFE only.  I tried the App and had nothing but issues with it.  I use Details' 'Clarity' and 'HDR Toning' sliders to fine tune what HDR10 does, as well as Contrast/Brightness to dial back Exposure over what my HDR10 calibration results in with NCP desktop colors at default.  Super happy with image quality!

I have to be careful to use older NV drivers that still work with GFE and that is 572.60 and I have a copy of GFE I install after installing this driver.
