NVIDIA App Yes/No?

Then what do you use to install and tweak NVIDIA drivers and settings?

Install? I just install the drivers manually whenever it justifies - Be shocked as i am using drivers from DEC2024 still. And i never use DDU or anything similar, install over previous version and enjoy. Amazing how i never have crashes eh?

And why would i even want to tweak anything? I just set the background framerate to 20fps for when i fly those 16-17h flights and minimize the simulator when i'm not looking at it for a good amount of energy saving.

The tweaking is inside the sim, know what to set to MED HIGH or ULTRA, let the fps be free and get a GSYNC monitor - freedom to fly with awesome smoothness and never worry about "tweaking".

I have no issue with my nvidia app that I use to override the DLSS settings, set my max fps and vsync, update my nvidia drivers, display an overlay with fps, and make screenshots windowed or full scre

I have used it for ages. Never caused me any harm and I kind of like it. It's just an NCP Plus, that's all. Nothing to be afraid of.

With the Nvidia app you can with a click set the DLSS files to use the desired settings, such as preset J or K. All you do is check the "Latest" box.

If you want to check that mission is accomplised, then you  can then click on a certain .reg file which displays which DLSS is being used and which preset. The display is in text after msfs boots up. You then click another file and the text goes away the next time msfs is started up.

Nvidia app makes things easy instead of multiple steps that are hard to remember.

This. You don't need to use DLSS swapper or manually mess with DLL files, if you choose the "latest" option in the Nvidia app you will always have the latest DLL's.

Didn't MS24 SU2 come out with DLSS4 natively now?

Yes, but not the latest version. I'm using the Nvidia app too with no issues.

If you upgrade to a 50 series GPU the latest drivers are the only option, and in time the Nvidia APP will be the only option sometime in the future. not had a problem using it better for the latest gaming settings with profiles baked in.

Three weeks ago I went from GFE to the App. No issues. Using the latest driver.

Unfortunately like with GFE  there is only Digital Vibrance to use as a freestyle filter. When using driver 572.26 or lower they can be used but then MSFS 2024 wil freeze within 5 minutes…

I've had the app in and out a few times. It's in now and it's fine. It has its uses and doesn't wreck anything or slow you down. Handy I think.

Not for me. It's a complete PITA. I've also been unable to uninstall it, because it's always running from start-up, and can't be deleted. It causes a MSFS 2020 CTD whenever I run with DX11, unless I delete some of its files beforehand.

It's good for quick driver updates and installations, quick tweaking of DLSS settings as well without the need for external programs for MSFS helps.

Also very handy for other games, I've been using it a lot more recently and have found it to be simply a handy tool to have.

Nvidia app was the culprit to causing 2020 to CTD upon loading the game, uninstalled it and no more issues.

Control panel while being outdated and slow does everything the app does and more.

I had to uninstall the app because I also suffer from CTD when starting 2020.

How did you uninstall it? Windows uninstall doesn't do anything for me, and Task Manager 'End Task' doesn't work either.

Only if you run sim in DX11. Works well in DX12
