  • really think it's unfair on FSDT to leave the title of this thread as it it currently is. It clearly isn't fraud and is clearly an issue woth the banks authorisation process. Any one who doesn't have

GSX is legit and I've been using them for years.  Chase can be a bit sensitive on their fraud protection (which I'm fine with).  I buy a lot of flight sim items from out of the US and Chase does flag them from time to time.

This is not new go to the FSDT Forums they can help.

I think it's a fraud too!  JK it's not that it's just for me it's a net loser.  I used it back in P3D and in MSFS 2020/2024 until about 3 months ago but it's a high maintenance feature that doesn't add enough value to offset maintenance time and performance burden here--just my opinion shared by not a lot of others I gather.

If one is disappointed with the product in P3D, why purchase it for MSFS 2020 and 2024 at all since the product remains basically the same with more feature? There are plenty of products I bought for P3D that I never bothered buying for MSFS, and, out of respect for the work of others, I won't make a list of them to suggest their products are bad.

This developer happens to be constantly working on his product - for free - to add feature and offer them as optional updates, if one does not want to spend any time on it, it's possible, contrary to MSFS where updates are mandatory. One may - or may not - download the numerous airport profiles available on Flightsim-to to make this addon even more complete.

CPU = 12900K / GPU = Nvidia 3090 VRAM 24 GB / RAM = 64 GB / SSD = 2 TB 980 PRO PCle 4.0 NVMe™ M.2,

I never purchased GSX, but now I'm really tempted to do so, specially after watching all of those BlackBox711 and other streams where I observe perfect integration of FS 2024 with it, and also when I read here at the forum informative and usually POSITIVE posts from what I believe to be one of it's developers...

My only fear is that with yet another "plugin" my FS 2024  smoothness may start showing the limitations of only 8GB VRAM and 32 GB RAM ... and a 5600x CPU and 3060 Ti GPU...

I actually am moving towards native MSFS only solutions, starting with the AI Traffic and ATC which I now use only default, and works and is actually getting very acceptable for my level of exigence, but a nice GSX-like action would be welcome 🙂

P3D was a different era.  GSX was a valued add-on at that point in time when sim quality was nowhere near what it is today.  Here's specifically why I find GSX a net loser for 2020/24:

  • In P3D one rarely saw the kind of issues I see in MSFS:  pushbacks that suddenly spins the aircraft 180 degrees when a simple pushback could have been done.  I understand MSFS' SDK brought with it problems that GSX could not really overcome without customizations including 'GSX Profiles'.  I don't have the interest in looking for profiles for all the myriad airport I fly into.
  • Next comes the fact ground crew in GSX walk right thru tugs, buildings, etc.
  • Literally years ago I requested to Umberto to please make the ground crew following the plane during pushback STOP when the plane stops when a straight pushback is requested:  he never did.  To this day when I chose straight back and stop the plane after 50 feet because otherwise it's running into a wall, the crew continues marching back all 100'.  Sorry, that's lame.
  • Next comes the stuttering the absolutely is present, in fact often it was the only thing stuttering at all during pushback.  Umberto explained this is an issue with Simconnect and that what I needed to do was run the sim at 30FPS to get around that.  Oh, okay.  I did try that, but nope, did not fix that.
  • Next comes the substantial performance hit when the animated PAX which I really never liked the quality of animation with.   And of course you've seen it too when PAX's heads poke out the top of a jetway.  The performance impact even when PAX are within the jetway out of view is substantial.  It only affected panning at that point but it did indeed do that.
  • Next comes nearly every other day an update was required.  That update actually takes longer than does MSFS 2024 to get to Free Flight screen, around 2 minutes.  To avoid loading everything up in pre-flight only to learn an update was needed for GSX it became routine for me to run the 2 minute update routine every single day to avoid that fugly yellow banner telling you an update was needed.
  • Next was the fact a significant portion of the time the main GSX menu would not fully load and I would have to manually kill Couatl and its spawning .exe, then Restart Couatl, and voila the menu then loaded.  This issue transcended Win 10 and upgrade to 11, was present in 2020 and 2024 and persisted up til my decision to uninstall GSX.

I miss some features with GSX but overall am happier without it as it was a constant source of annoyance overall for me.  I don't blame Umberto for some of this as it's likely out of his control being hamstrung by the SDK.   I just think GSX does not live up to the quality of the rest of the MSFS sims.

Just to add to what @jcomm and @Noel mentioned, I am also trying to take the approach of "default MSFS2024" as much as possible. I am just getting started with familiarizing myself with MSFS2024.

One thing that I have noticed and is rarely mentioned, is that the default MSFS2024 does actually give you some basic ground handling options (such as refueling truck simulation, animated jet bridges which seem to be of  a reasonable quality) and I use the simple (pre-Aerosoft)  pushback tool which overall was more than P3D provided.

While not the most complex or feature-rich as add-ons like GSX, they do the job and I think its going to be enough for my use to get me started in MSFS2024 without the added complexities mentioned above. Maybe that will change as I move into flying some payware aircraft.

Anyway back to the OP question/comment, I would provide that feedback on the GSX forum. Usually Umberto is fairly quick to chase those sort of payment problems down for you. Have fun with GSX.

For those who don't use GSX, what do you use for pushback and for airstairs?

I never liked the default, comms-based pushback, and the ones that are built into EFB are a bit hard to guide (except for the brilliant FBW one with its top view in the EFB). But I also want to clean my MSFS2024 a bit.

Happened with me as well with chase. just go through their 3D secure thing and try again.

GSX is legit (assuming you’re not on some pirate site) and not fraudulent.. I don’t like it much and got a refund, but it’s definitely not fraud. It’s a real company and real product that many like.

Back to topic: what does your bank or Visa say about that? Sometimes they ask for additional verification and, since they don't receive it (because it gets stuck somewhere before getting to you), your purchase gets declined. For example, Uber declines my card every 10-20 trips, and it's always because of verification request I never receive. A call to them and it's all set...for another 10-20 trips 🤦‍♂️

Of course an American bank is bound to the the expert on flight simulation software.
Or perhaps not.
No one else has this problem, only your bank.

Maybe better to change the headline. to me it looks like your saying GSX committed fraud?
