I'm not sure. Here, when you contact the bank to approve a purchase and they approve it, it means that you can try the purchase again. I don't know how is it in the US.

Welcome to Internet where we can damage the reputation of others without suffering any consequences... from a company being fraudulent for a bank, we now move to a product/developer being a fraud!

really think it's unfair on FSDT to leave the title of this thread as it it currently is. It clearly isn't fraud and is clearly an issue woth the banks authorisation process. Any one who doesn't have the attention span to read through the thred (quite a ot of people these days it seems) may get the wrong idea about a well established and completely legit company.

This is 2025 and we are starting a thread on a Flightsim forum regarding an individuals bank????

Seriously? Call your bank or respond to the text message they sent and report that you made the purchase. It’s that simple. If it isn’t that simple for you, then you should look into switching banks.

I have bought many things from reputable Flightsim developers and stores and some times, my bank declines the charge. They send me a text asking if it’s in fact me trying to purchase stuff. I say yes and then try the purchase again to find that it goes through with no issues.

I would love to see a letter or something from your bank saying FSDT is legitimate fraud.

I love it, "legitimate fraud" is almost as good as an "honest lie", perfect examples of an oxymoron.

To the OP: Over here in the first world, if a bank does not automatically trust an internet based transaction, it requires a six figure number sent by them to you,
usually in a text message, to be entered before the transaction will complete.
That way, they know it's you and that you approved the transaction.
To the OP: If your bank is still in the dark ages of paper and telephone calls, perhaps it is time for a change of bank.

Anybody else have this problem ?

My problem may not have been the same as yours. I tried purchasing GSX. I had previously bought three of FSDT's sceneries and had no problems, but this time I was told something about "financial institutions" saying there was a problem with my debit cards, the same one I'd used to purchase the sceneries. All other forms of payment I tried (Paypal, Google, bank transfer) were also turned down. Turns out that FSDT contracts with a third party company to do the payment transactions (I forget their name), and it was that company, not FSDT, that had turned down my payments. I contacted the company and got a vague response that meant nothing. It was obviously some sort of mistake on their part, as I had been using these cards prior to and after this incident with no problems. My bank knew nothing about it and said there was nothing wrong with my accounts/cards. I Googled this company and they seemed a bit shady. Lots of complaints about them on Paypal.

It was more disappointing to me that the guy at FSDT refused my offers to pay using some other means. I offered to do a bank transfer directly to their account. I even offered to mail them a check and they could wait until it cleared before sending me my key. They didn't even respond to my offer. Very rude, and not very good business. I guess they're doing so well they can turn down a sale for no good reason.

I just checked again and it looks like my payment would now be accepted. Too late...I've decided I don't much care for FSDT, and I've also seen lots of complaints about GSX on various forums.

Sorry about the duplicate posts. The forum software would not confirm the message had been posted so I kept trying. Now I can't figure out how to delete them.

This can happen sometimes when the forum system is having a bad day and there is a lag.

You can't do anything about it now as it is probably too late to edit them, I think you only get an hour after posting, but when this happens to me I just edit out all of the text and put 'Duplicate' so it doesn't take up all of the forum space.

Only a moderator can clean it up now.  Sometimes they do if they see it.

That is a shame Sidney, as putting business acumen aside, it is a very good and comprehensive product. The manual is quite a lengthy document now and a lot of users simply don’t read it which leads to unwarranted complaints. It’s a third party product that usually has to work in with other add ons and this is where the issue often is. Yes, there is other pushback add ons available, but they are nowhere near as functional and configurable as GSX.

Cheers

One of the reasons it may be marked as fraud is if there is a high rate of chargebacks.

I too had almost done a chargeback when the developer didn’t respond to my refund request for days. I waited a week and then sent an email saying I would do a chargeback.. and within an hour they magically refunded me.

They have poor customer service and I can well imagine that others like me might not have sent that last email and just done a chargeback.. and if enough people do that, it flags the merchant as problematic.

can’t say for sure of course, just a thought.

Aha. Thanks, I did that. You'd think it would be easier on everyone if the original poster could delete their own message if they wanted.

I appreciate the input. If any other GSX users want to weigh in, your comments would be most welcome. In the meantime I'll look at existing GSX threads here. Maybe I'll change my mind.

Some love it,  but I had nothing but issues and the customer support was so bad.. I gave up. I don’t recommend it at all.
