Skip the "Ready to fly" button

Featured Replies

In MSFS2024, if you no longer want to have to click the "Ready to Fly" button at the start of each flight, so that you are directly in control while aligned on the runway for takeoff, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the file "base.bundle.js". On my system (Microsoft Store version), it is located at C:\XboxGames\Limitless\Content\Packages\fs-base-ui\html_ui\Global\pkg\. For Steam clients, it is typically found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Limitless\Packages\fs-base-ui\html_ui\Global\pkg\
  2. Make a copy of this base.bundle.js file.
  3. Using a text editor, locate this block of 3 lines (in my case, with SU3 1.5.13.0, it's on line 2408):
    Ready(callback) {
    this.m_cbOnReadyButton = callback;
    }
  4. Add the line "this.m_cbOnReadyButton();" so that the previous block finally looks like this:
    Ready(callback) {
    this.m_cbOnReadyButton = callback;
    this.m_cbOnReadyButton();
    }

WARNING:

  • Remember to make copies of the files you modify.
  • If you don't know how to edit a text file, wait for a simpler method to surface and refrain from making changes without knowing how to revert them.
  • In this base.bundle.js file, do not confuse the Ready(callback) and OnReady(callback) blocks.
  • I have only tested this on my Beta version 1.5.13.0. However, users has successfully tested it on Steam SU2.
  • We will very likely need to repeat this procedure after each update.

    I forgot to mention and to credit. It's not my finding, just a tip I read on a Facebook page as a workaround for an addon (I forget the name, sorry getting old).

    That one got me running around a bit. Note to self: Read the post properly. 😁 Isn't it wonderful how, as in all previous sims, the 'community' knocks them into shape?

  • Is the advantage of this mod just that it saves one mouse click? I must not be understanding something. Thx, Al

I have 2024 installed in a custom location (windows store) but I can't find this path anywhere.  Any other ideas on where it might be?

Check for the "XboxGames" folder on the drive where you installed the sim. In my case it was D:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Content.

That one got me running around a bit. Note to self: Read the post properly. 😁

If you launch the Xbox App, then "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024" -> "..." -> MANAGE -> Tab "Files", you should reach the root folder of your MSFS2024, no ? Or is it the full path \XboxGames\Limitless\Content\Packages\fs-base-ui\html_ui\Global\pkg\ you can't find ?

...I'll put up with the extra 15-20 secs. it takes to get me to the gate or Runway after clicking the "Ready to Fly" button. Good Tip for some who may value it more than me though.

Will this work if I chose a different starting location such as a GA ramp or a terminal gate? I don't want to spawn on the runway.

As far as I remember, by default, if you choose a ramp position or gate, you're cold & dark and start the flight with the preflight that could be skipped with CTRL+C shortcut.

Even after SU2 (which partially fixed this issue), I've still occasionally been unable to click that button in VR, and had to toggle VR back off to do it, so could be useful for VR users.

Thank you Vincent! This should be moved/copied to Tips&Tricks.
