I love Lears, but I’ll stick with the Citation X for the same $$. It’s first day of release, so I’ll keep an eye on this and see how it improves.

Can't wait to read it! 😁 Excerpts from Madonna's Learjet Diaries book: "Fuel on both tip tanks have to be filled simultaneously otherwise the plane will tip over"... "The ideal descent profile is to pitch down, accelerate to redline and come down like a speeding bullet. In a prop you come down at medium speed. In the Lear, it's all about maximizing speed. You want to stay as high as possible, and as fast as possible, for as long as possible." "Flying a Lear was all about maintaining momentum, and unnecessary throttle movements were the hallmark of an amateur." "This airplane has a pitch response different from what you are used to. The engines are placed higher than the center of gravity so a thrust increases causes a pitch down and a thrust decrease causes a pitch up. It's the opposite of propeller driven airplanes." "Because the Lear was is an adapted fighter jet, spaces are cramped. The cockpit is small... everything in airplane design is a tradeoff... The Lear engineers had no intention of building in comfort at the cost of speed and efficiency. "The passengers in the back were cramped in a cabin only five feet wide and four feet high. Front to back was only nine feet. But it was up in front, in the cockpit, where the torturers decided to do their most demonic work. The pilots were squeezed into an even more narrow space, into a tiny cockpit where the fuselage tapered sharply towards the nose. There was little spare headroom and each pilot's shoulders rubbed against the other pilot on one side and against the side of the windshield on the other. There was an old joke that when looking at a Lear Jet crew that you could tell which was the captain or the copilot by which way their heads were permanently tilted having to conform to the curve of the windshield." "There was only one fuel gauge because, again, when designing the Lear Jet Bill Lear was obsessed by two main design criteria, saving weight and reducing complexity. He was once heard to say that he would trade his grandmother for a weight savings of just one pound. And in the design studios of the Lear factory, engineers were often heard to say things like, "Changing to this lighter component is worth four grandmothers." --- 15-year old video of the Learjet from the developer: r Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space. September 10, 2025Sep 10 If this get's TDS GTNxi support I'll buy it. The way it reads in the manual is they want end users to do it. No thanks! That's ridiculous! Every other aircraft dev integrates the PMS/TDS units. And before you whiners here call me a child of the magenta, I learned to fly before easy GPS's were installed lol. Having a GPS doesnt mean you always use it but having the OPTION to use GPS is nice, and that opens up many more IAP's and routes. And a touchscreen GPS is vastly easier to operate in the sim. They also show pics with the old (non Working Title GNS530) - nasty. That thing is deprecated... like 3 years ago! The 307 page manual looks amazing though. So if they fix those 2 items I'd be game. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

Exactly my thinking. If dev go to trouble to write lengthy detailed manual why not include option for PMS or TDS ? Flysimware Lear had them from day one! Having a GPS doesnt mean you always use it but having the OPTION to use GPS is nice, and that opens up many more IAP's and routes. I'm with ya! The biggest key for me is the IAP's you add with GPS. Here in the US, the FAA has done a amazing job of adding GPS approaches to mid-sized and smaller fields around the country, and having those IAP's available opens up so many more airport possibilities to GA pilots who fly higher performance planes like the Lear IFR. And like Ryan, I prefer the 750/650, and specifically the TDS option for two reasons. First, TDS' implementation uses the Garmin trainer so you get it ALL, just as Garmin implemented it, and second, once you've used the 750/650 touch interface it's REALLY hard to go back to the clunky design of the 530. I can do it, but I'd prefer "ta not ta". Scott

I'm glad it will live in infamy hehe I love the GTN... maybe it's true - I do love it too much. But for the sim it's much easier to operate in 2d or VR. IRL I've got a GNS430W and it's perfectly capable and wonderful - but I can use my hands to turn things and press buttons. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 11, 2025Sep 11 The aircraft itself is a pleasure to fly. The FM is excellent and systems (so far) seem to be nicely modeled. The manual is very well written, but almost completely P3D centric. I do hope GTN integration comes at some point. Still cannot find a MSFS (current) video posted. No apparent promotion or input from the developer. No word on patches, updates or functionality scheduled. Email based support. This has the potential to be a great add-on, but it’s not there yet. September 11, 2025Sep 11 This might be a true study-level addon for hard-core experienced flight simmer-developer who wants the aircraft "as real as it gets" to the original aircraft. (A B-17 bomber with a GTN 1000 NXi just wouldn't make sense to me, hehehe.... sorry, I couldn't resist). The instructions for installing 3rd party liveries, sound package and avionics are about 40 pages of fine print in the amazing 300+ page manual (which IMHO competes quality-wise with manuals from Black Square and FSReborn). Excerpts from the manual (bold fonts mine): "...We tested the Working Title GNS 530...it worked just fine. However, for some reasons, the system interfered with the basic MSFS autopilot that is used in the GLJ Model 25 and changed the behavior of some of the autopilot modes (the basic MSFS autopilot conforms better to the autopilot installed in the real aircraft). The Working Title GNS 530 still remains an option for users who can live with a slightly different autopilot... During our search for a compatible weather radar, we have tested the Asobo Airbus A320 Neo radar that comes with MSFS 2020. The results were not impressive..." Most airplanes today are retrofitted with modern equipment not because of "cult of magenta line" but by necessity ! You can survive in modern sky without GPS. Sure developer could have original factory built factory laout without GPS, but GTN NXI is what is on market today.
