July 10, 2025Jul 10 I jumped back into 2024 today after flying in 2020 for a while and i've noticed that the ground textures are blurry and way less crisp than 2020. Is there a fix for this or is it a streaming thing that could change day by day for better or worse? This is flying Fenix at altitudes, not low and slow. I know settings might be a thing to change as well, but just feel like 2020 was a lot more realistic looking to me for some reason. I like 2024, but jst wanted to see what people thought. Thanks This is one way without losing any performance that I know of, and I personally use. Use regedit to restore the sharpening option in the Nvidia control panel: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvlddmkm\FTS Now open the EnableGR535 file from the right-hand side. Change its Value Data to 0 and hit OK to save it. My suggestion is to use the function "find" in the regedit menu for EnableGR535, from there, just make the change. Close regedit, start NCP, the first line will read image sharpening, my settings are sharp 0.36 with ignore film grain of 1.0 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

Thanks There's no fix, even at Ultra settings and TLOD 200 (which are not workable for your 3080 anyway) very often - not always - ground textures are blurry from medium-high altitude. July 11, 2025Jul 11 Weird, much more clarity for me than 2020 ever had. No tweaks or third party fixes either. This is at 4K, DLSS, TLOD 205, most at High or Medium, four at Ultra. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

Everything's perfect 🙂 Emi has a 4090 and you can clearly see the stutterfest on takeoff and the blurry terrain textures once airborne 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

I'd say everything is really very good, nothing is perfect. I'd need to sit in front of Emi's computer to see what he or she is doing that I am not, or not doing that I am. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

July 13, 2025Jul 13 I am plagued with this and it’s what’s keeping me from 2024. HOWEVER………I found that if I set my rolling cache file to a size of 400-500GB, then my ground textures look like 2020 when that software released. Because of the many issues in 2024 I became an XP12 user about two months ago, a sim I find satisfying to use and that has no major issues on my system. I do however load up 2024 each time a beta update is released to see if any of the issues I have have been fixed. I was pleased to see reports the LOD issue had been improved, so I spent an hour in the circuit at Popham airfield in the UK. On the downwind leg shortly before base leg. hangers were being culled. on base leg they started to reappear. On short final I had a big stutter, followed by several more during the flare. This resulted in me overcontrolling and landing in the last quarter of the grass strip. All the time flying I was suffering this awful sound stuttering and crackling. I shall keep checking 2024 after each update because it is a good sim, but I just can't use it in its current state.
