August 17, 2025Aug 17 As for the people more concerned with the title than the content, every post here is based on someone's personal experience. The level of sensitivity here is just off the charts. I really make an effort to premise my statements with (for me) or (personally) or (my opinion only) because if you don't there are a select few who spend more time criticizing thread titles, punctuation and grammar on a site where English is not even everyone's first language than worrying about the content of the post. So yes, for the OP it is infuriating and for a number of other people it is as well. I have ZERO concern a thread title on Avsim is going to deter someone from using '24. People really think a thread on Avsim has that type of influence? Let's not turn this into the Official Forums where threads magically disappear if they become too critical even if it's warranted... If this isn't your experience then great but don't devalue other people's experiences because you are concerned about a "tabloid" title on an Avsim thread influencing people as to which sim to use to which I would ask, why do you care anyway? August 17, 2025Aug 17 Impressive setup, @psolk 🙂 I'm guessing, that you don't fly Airbus much...? Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471

Sadly no 😞 I miss the out on the Fenix and FSL offerings because I am so Boeing centric in my setup 😞 I am also a totally uncoordinated fool with my left hand so the thought of controlling a sidestick with a hand I can't even brush my teeth with has always felt a bit unsafe for my virtual passengers 😂 I do also have a 737 Throttle Quad, 737 landing gear unit and dual 737 CDU's so I pretty much just switch back and forth between the 737 and 777 🙂 Thank you! Even if they are self-powered and low-bandwidth, each has its polling rate and keeps the CPU a little busy... it should not impact the performance significantly if USB drivers and motherboard hardware are on check but still can potentially cause the occasional hiccup. Impressive setup BTW, very cool 🙂 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

I can easily disable the controls individually next time I see the performance degradation to see if one of the controllers is contributing. It's funny all the things we throw at this sim and still expect it to perform like we've done nothing to try and break it LOL... Thank you! Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

Your post looks like it could have been written by me, except that I tried using Lossless Scaling and had big problems with that. My workaround has also been to switch to XP12. Smooth as silk, looks almost as good with Sim Heaven and Map Enhancement, and much simpler tool for scenery modification. (W.E.D.) August 17, 2025Aug 17 The number of USBs connected shouldn't hamper performance, as said above and I concur they will drain a bit but with today's systems and software/drivers it's negligible. I have a powered USB hub and only turn on individual devices for flying or racing, works a treat. August 17, 2025Aug 17 Ah yes. It appears you're on the beta SU3 unless I have read that wrong. Whatever is going on behind their closes doors during the beta testing it seems. Not experienced anything like this since SU2. I tried SU3 early on and immediately left back to SU2 as it was smoother overall. I use AutoFPS and a "lesser" CPU than you and don't experience this issues. It has to be the beta you're in. At least that's my guess. That being said, MSFS 2020 and 2024 have had issues in the early months/years especially with LOD related stuff. But the performance degradation in the same flight is just crazy. I typically fly the fenix or just flight planes lately out of bigger airports or "busy" places like EGLC which is know for its performance loss. To be fair, I run 3 self powered Hubs as well as external power to a number of the devices where USB power alone is not enough. No USB conflicts on the system what-so-ever. If you haven't already, go into your Device Manager, open the properties of each of those USB devices, and under the "Power Management" tab, uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". You can also do the same for the USB Root Hub devices. It really depends on the device, but MSFS has always been very picky when devices lose connection, and if even one of your USB devices is going into power save mode, it can cause stutters (or even a CTD) when the device loses connection or wakes back up. I had this issue long ago with 2020 and a Bluetooth keyboard... BT devices are pretty aggressive with power savings, and once I replaced the keyboard with a wireless USB model it fixed my momentary freezing and CTD issues.
August 17, 2025Aug 17 Also, for those with random performance degradation, testing with a VPN is worth it to rule out any issues with your ISP. With net neutrality basically dead, I do not trust most big ISP's (especially the likes of Comcast) to not mess with your connection when they see a spike in traffic. Microsoft/Asobo really need an MSFS speed test website to simulate traffic and map out network performance so ISP or routing issues can be ruled out.
