September 15, 2025Sep 15 It was cool to see the improvements, but I want to point out those stutters on final all the way down to the runway. They are such an immersion killer and absolutely wreck your ability to fine tune your flare. It's a bit of a disappointment not to see them resolved even further in SU4. Of course I'll admit it could be exacerbated by the poor scenery optimization, but still. Was hoping to see better there. September 15, 2025Sep 15 I don't think I've ever experienced such good performance in MSFS 2024 as I have now with SU4 beta. The difference compared to SU3 and previous update versions, or even MSFS 2020 for that matter, is clearly striking. Fenix, FSHud with generous amount of AI traffic, payware airports (either MSFS 24 native or just compatible), TLOD at 250 and it's just smooth, no blurry textures, no stutters whatsoever. I'm just a little afraid that this won't last forever and something will go wrong again. September 15, 2025Sep 15 Same here, it's quite simply incredible. Like a whole new sim. I've managed to max out all settings and even push BATC traffic sliders up (10 parked, 8 departing, 8 enroute, 7 arriving - mostly because otherwise separation becomes a dog dinner). I rarely dip below 80 FPS with x2 FG, even in heavy airports in the Fenix. Performance is so good now that even the ini A350 runs smoothly! The other day I loaded it up at EGLL, with custom cabin and the above AI traffic levels and I got 70 FPS. Pre SU4 I would barely scratch 30 despite using low res textures and the no cabin model. I truly hope they will keep this up and maintain those incredible performance gains. I finally see my 4090 being used properly too! Whatever Asobo did - well done!!
September 15, 2025Sep 15 The performance gain is great - but having no brakes on many aircraft (all addons that I have tested) is a show stopper for me. There is a lot of discussion on the official site about this - hope an fix is quick. September 15, 2025Sep 15 I have upgraded my PC to a 9800X3D and now with SU4.. it's just completely smooth at 4k Ultra, no matter the airport or aircraft. A350 at Ini EGLL? No problem. Smooth as silk. Yes, admittedly my PC is very high spec and all, but it IS nice to finally have absolutely smoothness without having to even think about FPS or 1% lows or whatever. I hope this continues. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
September 15, 2025Sep 15 If you watch the referenced vid the usage and power of mainly GPU but also CPU is simply higher in the SU4b. I don't yet understand what unlocks it using more of the GPU and CPU, or mayby the otherway arround what is restricting the CPU&GPU not going full power in SU3
September 15, 2025Sep 15 I retract my prior statement - maybe we will have the perfect sim someday. dd

The GPU is now at 99%, CPU goes up and down as needed. But it's definitely using more of my machine than it used to. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

Yes, this is a beta bug and should be fixed soon - certainly it won’t release with brakes broken on many planes. but the performance gains are real and should stick around. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

It's perfectly smooth at 4K Ultra! Every plane, every airport. It's like a whole new sim. Try it! 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
September 16, 2025Sep 16 Yeah even though the performance improvements are largely noticeable, past betas have had a tendency to start off good then gradually decrease with regards to performance with reach update released. I don't think that'll happen here though, something tells me the CPU optimisation work they've done is finally what they promised pre-launch so it should "stick", but this is Asobo so anything is possible! For now though, aside the continuous random poor performance on take off/landing, it's definitely a good step in the right direction and I'm enjoying this Sim alot more since SU4 beta was released.
